A lot of cheaters also just have brony or furry names/icons to further piss people off. I doubt half the cheaters you see with those kinds of profiles are actually bronies/furries/whatevers
Somehow come to know a few of these special people in my life, sniper unusuals everywhere and reddit-worthy strange names etc. You'd be surprised at how many of these aren't being ironic, but just simply live off of Steam and the attention they generate by being dicks. Doesn't mean their avatar/fandom associations are ironic.

Nobody with at least a single mid official played in ETF2L did get VAC banned in this wave, nothing juicy here.

As far as I can tell no active UGC player was banned, just a handful of kids who've never joined a roster or havn't been on a roster since HL S12 (Jan-March/Apr 2014).
But it is important to note than 2 big cheats did get detected. Even if it didn't have an effect on the competitive community it really disrupts the cheating scene.
There's still plenty cheats out there, and way better ones, but at least these two common cheats are out of commission for a bit...
