In the lower bracket of Insomnia58, Windtunnel Tactics and 3/6 are the first to fall, with Team XENEX and Comfortably Spanked surviving and advancing to the next round.
Team XENEX vs. Windtunnel Tactics
Gullywash was the first map for this engagement. The first round ended up with both teams trading the middle point several times before Team XENEX finally managed to take control and take the round. The next two rounds were more straightforward for them, giving them a 3-0 lead. Windtunnel Tactics finally managed to grab a round on the board after another drawn-out round, but by then very little time was remaining and Team XENEX secured two rounds in quick succession to put the map out of reach.
Reckoner was the next up in the series. Team XENEX began with a lightning round win, but Windtunnel Tactics equalized after a long round. The two teams then traded rounds quickly. The fifth round ended up with a back-and-forth on Windtunnel Tactics's second point, but they held on and pushed quickly to win the round and secure the map 3-2 to force a decider.
On Process, Team XENEX took the first three rounds before Windtunnel Tactics finally responded with their first. Team XENEX then took two more, leaving them with a four-round lead with less than ten minutes left in the game. Windtunnel Tactics took a round to keep their hopes alive, but it would be their last as Team XENEX took the last two to secure the map 7-2 and advance in the lower bracket to face Full Tilt.
Comfortably Spanked vs. 3/6
The series began on Product, where the first two rounds were relatively close but went in Comfortably Spanked's favor. By the third round, however, they had found their stride and easily took it to close out the map 3-0.
On Gullywash, Comfortably Spanked easily dominated, taking the map 5-0 after only 12 minutes, thus moving on to the next round of the lower bracket to face Jasmine Tea.
