pretty sure had habib/bdonski or nursey/shade gone to i58 they would have been the best or at least top 3 at their respective classes
yomps & shrugger are crazy as well

I don't have a top 5 but I think Quad may be up there and Dr Justice.
if it were up to me there'd never been any medics in the top 5 of these because it's fundamentally not as difficult a class
I'd say right now
b4nny
stark
mike
habib
kaptain/bdonski/shrugger (although shrugger's playstyle is legit affected by lan, or has been in the past)

i'm not saying that you can't be good if you don't go to lan. but it's meaningless to compare player vs player in an online environment when matches don't really matter as much. the real test of skill is in a LAN environment, against the best teams in the world, this is the only time when the pressure is truly on.

i understand what you're saying but you can't dismiss the fact that there are currently active players who are incredibly good just because they haven't had the luxury to attend the most recent international lan (iirc habib won a toronto lan not too long ago and shrugger is the only player who has legitimately been adversely affected by a lan but im p sure he like forgot to bring his mouse or config or some shit like that)

I agree, it seems that there is a serious bias against those who didn't go to i58. It's expected that people outside of NA wouldn't be too familiar with those who haven't appeared at a LAN, but I also think it's unfair to count them out. We don't have the luxury of cheap continental travel, or a LAN in our back yards like the Euros do.

toronto LAN was a very fun experience for me however at the time I was at the Top of ESEA-IM and while the 5 ping was absolutely disgusting, the players that were actually there, aside from me, lucrative, mangachu and sheo were majority being UGC HL players, so I wouldnt really call the experience something very relative to lets say the level of play at an insomnia lan
that being said I really want to play at a invite / prem level LAN especially since i have that fetti and can cover travel fees and what not, the only thing really stopping me from going is obviously not having the oppurtunity

b4nny stark and mike are so far ahead of the other players at lan that putting someone like silentes or Hafficool in that group really doesn't make sense

It's funny how only one FROYO member can even be argued to be top 5 anymore, when at i52 the top 5 was probably termo, seagull, and 3 of lansky/b4nny/clock/blaze

Not to ride b4nny here, but after all this discussion/debate about how much of an advantage a coach like kaidus brought to Crowns and who people think are the top 5 players, I think it really highlights how good b4nny really is and how much of an impact he has on the teams he's been on. He's been the only constant on all of the froyo teams, and honestly, despite all the "memes" and shittalk about how cw carried froyo, no reasonable person can deny that b4nny is and has always been the true carry of the team, having elevated the current players on the team to their current status (though of course everyone on the team worked hard as well).
I could absolutely say the same thing about stark and mike as well, but you get the point. Full Tilt with Mike could've absolutely won this past season. And I doubt Crowns could've pulled off the win without stark on the team, even with kaidus maincalling.

RaburnDidn't you watch Rando play at insomnia?
last I saw he had to play with 2 ringers including fragile on med so I wouldn't say he falls into that category lol
All I remember from that lan was him hitting a nutty triple airshot or some shit like that
