froyotech, after returning home following a respectable third-place finish at Insomnia58, have made several changes for the upcoming year.
Muma chose to step down from playing in order to pursue opportunities in Overwatch, and TLR, who had joined the team only to play Insomnia, has also stepped down. phorofor, the team's controversial medic, was cut by the team.
In their places comes familiar names. blaze, who had stepped down due to not wanting to go to Insomnia, has returned to the roaming role. In addition, two players from the recently-demised FROYO BLACK roster, Hassassin and shade, have joined the team.
b4nny, the team's grizzled captain, discussed the moves with teamfortress.tv:
I'm really excited to have shade and blaze playing again; they both bring a ton of experience and power to the team that had certainly been lacking lately. Combining those two's timeless froyotech magic with the new-school core of paddie and Freestate has been seamless so far. The last piece of the puzzle is habib; with his strong calls, sneaky traps, drive to improve, and even the rare ability to rollout to mid, he'll be a force to be reckoned with. All in all, I believe this will be one of the strongest froyotech lineups in the team's history and I expect nothing less than a grand finals appearance by the end of the season.
