I'm pretty sure many of you already noticed it, but the French team BackGet Foolery officially got sponsored by the old & historic org Crack Clan.

Also thanks to they're big archive i managed to read some of the articles they've made for the biggest tf2 lan ever (PC Gamer Showdown), just in case some of you may be interested in them here they are:
http://crackclan.com/pc-gamer-showdown-lan/
http://crackclan.com/crack-clan-announces-professional-division/
http://crackclan.com/live-crack-pro-tf2-team-to-face-dignifused-in-losers-bracket/
http://crackclan.com/ent-interviews-moose-of-the-new-tf2-pro-team/

Thanks to these I even managed to collect enought info to write the original Crack Clan roster down!

That´s correct. This "org" is in no way shape or form a professional organisation that will back up your team if you just play under their banner. It´s a community run by a dubios twofaced person that for some reason managed to create some sort of legendary status for his "org" within the TF2 community on the back of the original crackclan lineup with the jews years back. You will be presented with a "selfsustaining business plan" for your team - essentially meaning you have to create your own revenue and exposure but for the crackclan brand to fund yourself to tournaments. At this point you could make your own fantasy org and brand that project out. Ive created tons of videos and streams for this org only to have my team pay for every expense they had to face going to an Iseries on their own and the CEO of CRACKCLAN ( LUL ) going MIA just at the right time before LAN.It´s a scam and I wish you people would stop glorifying this situation. We never really spoke publicly about it cause at the time this shit was going down we were in talks with other organisations - and bashing the one you are just leaving wouldnt have looked too good.

When I read stuff like this " Their original sponsorship for the European division ceased in June 2013[3], turning the team to a new sponsor and thus rebranding as Team Infused" on comp.tf I can only cringe :`(

#10 hit the nail, and just to paint a picture for anyone who doesn't know the history.. The only time CrackClan were viable as an organisation was when Ben Woodward and Luke Cotton (managers from 4K when the org was legit/in it's heyday) tried to take them from community organisation to proper esports org/brand. They brought all contacts/sponsors/funds with them but realised a few months later it was a shit fest ran by people they didn't want to associate with and left to create their own organisation - PwR gaming, some may remember they had an old school Finnish TF2 team.

At no point were CrackClan legit during their time involved with TF2 - they were dining off the fame/notoriety they had for a few months as explained above.

TL;DR EU Blight.

Crack Clan has supported countless TF2 teams since 2007; from lending name, to financing servers through to supporting LAN appearances. Different for everyone but, as far as I'm concerned, not entirely insignificant.

Ipz squad was cut simply: a) not adhering to the original agreement [persistent inappropriate language/behaviour and near total cessation of promotional activity] and b) soliciting support from another organization while under support by Crack Clan and using the Crack Clan name. Pitching Infused for LAN support hoping for a better deal shortly before LAN is somehow transmogrified by Ipz's narrative above in to his whole team getting screwed before the event; this is far from accurate and simply an outrageous accusation. Silence at the time from both sides to respect the tentative nature of e-sports and reputations was dutifully employed, but I'm considering Ipz post above as abandonment of that paradigm and so I will address this directly since he doesn't seem to play at the same level he used to.

The model he mentions was proposed by myself and was broadly supported by the squad -- the funds were not there to support a full-on LAN appearance so a plan was built to try to help out -- it garnered enthusiastic support from Ipz and the rest of the guys and also received similar accolades from the community at large; many of you enjoyed the resulting videos, demos, configs, match reports and Mumble casts through our "TF2 Portal". This was such a success that Ipz proudly included that as part of his pitch to Infused while still receiving support from Crack Clan. Cringe and two-faced indeed, sir.

That said, it was easily the most excited I have ever been about TF2; that particular squad did indeed perform and outperform in many ways: the hilarious antics and awesome personalities with some heroic efforts and some genuine work (Ipz is correct in this, he and Chaplain and others definitely worked hard on producing quality videos which still hold up to the test of time - I'd be annoyed to feel like I lost all that effort too) really made for a special package. Last but not least, I was absolutely made to feel like part of the team; Admirable is a charismatic gentleman genius and the entire squad was gracious enough to include me in post-engagement meetings and tolerant enough to let me say a few syllables even when they knew the game a thousand times better than me. It was a class act while it remained a class act, I still look back on it fondly and will likely always do so - sometimes I wish we were still all together, it was good times. It was also class on Infused's side not to sponsor until after enough time had passed, that's proper.

Putting your heart, soul, time and money in to supporting a squad and then seeing them pitch another organization while you're gearing up to go to LAN was pretty heart-breaking. I don't expect y'all to take me at face value coming out of the woodwork to defend against what I think is an outrageous narrative so, since most of you are already aware of the colourful language employed by that squad on stream through our portal (something Crack Clan has been strictly against since the very beginning), I've redacted the "pitch" (because there's photos and real names involved and I don't know how much of that is public knowledge and that's not cool to spring on the public anyway) for what I consider sensitive..

https://filetea.me/t1sJZiWJHonQ3xXlByclTDoqA

..so yes, in my books, you get sacked for this kind of stuff - most of that angle was mine, lifted straight by the author of this document -- just outrageous! Anyhow, I don't blame Ipz or anyone for looking for a better deal, but he could have worked with me on that (I would have gladly come in under the Infused banner and helped support that squad) but I do blame him for posting the ridiculous version of events that you can see above..

Part of the reason why I put Kaylus through an extremely rigorous and extended trial before agreeing to do something together is because I felt pretty badly burnt from the above debacle: I've always loved being part of a high-level team - I suck at the game but really like it so it's always been a great way to live vicariously through other players - Smzi, T-Mac, TviQ, 2nuts, Brego, ipz, Admirable and Chaplain set that bar for me more than anyone had before -- but after what feels like a year of giving Kaylus "maybe's" I could no longer deny that him and Alien, Soupah, Kinty, Karnax and Mino are worth a shot -- I hope I can help them in some way while enjoying their journey through this season and I'm sorry that this announcement has had to put a little focus on anything but these French lads that are poised to make waves!

Anyhow, there you have it! Hi again everyone, I'm glad TF2 is still kicking, let's see what we can do this time!!! Allez les Bleus!

Honestly I never fully understood how the whole Crack Clan thing turned to shit. It was a great project to be part of and we were really trying to elevate peoples expectations of what a prem team could do for the scene.

My recollections align pretty much with what dox says, but I wasn't involved in the subsequent drama as I had stepped back from the team for other reasons. My understanding was that since I had left there was a breakdown in communication with dox feeling out of loop and ipz unable to reach dox in the critical lead up to LAN.

I feel like it was all a big misunderstanding in that each party's expectations were not well communicated. For the record, dox did buy or refund me a ticket to that summer i-Series, but I never went.

I think it it weren't for that bad blood the rest of the team would look back on that time as fondly as I do. Sure, we did most of the work ourselves (way more than any other team), but we were under no illusions - we were literally trying to establish a viable self sustaining sponsorship / business model for top TF2 teams because there is no money in the game.

I still feel that dox was a genuinely cool guy to work with (what other org owners are DJing for their teams on Mumble?!), but again I wasn't there for the drama.

My 2 cents <3

the only reason we actually looked for another org is that our only contact to CC// went mia for months with as far as i remember our season and cup winnings in the pocket. From all the add-revenue or the merchandize that we set up to be sold on your website the team also never saw a single cent. So please explain to me how exactly you prepared our lan journey and how you supported the team with financial funds (mumble server? LUL) oh wait financial support as in buying tviq's lan ticket, which in the end you never did and ipz had to buy it last minute FeelsBadMan

PS: your claim that the squad got cut because of a) not adhering to the original agreement [persistent inappropriate language/behaviour and near total cessation of promotional activity]b) soliciting support from another organization while under support by Crack Clan and using the Crack Clan name. Pitching Infused for LAN support hoping for a better deal shortly before LAN is somehow transmogrified by Ipz's narrative above in to his whole team getting screwed before the event; this is far from accurate and simply an outrageous accusation

is just straight up a lie as we as a team left the org #zaibatsu

konrWhat do you have to say about Comfortably Spanked echoing the same sentiment as Ipz and co., dox?

wasnt quite as bad as the ipz drama tbf, crack clan wanted to create a partnership with us 3 - 4 months before i58, help us get to lan etc. but it was quite hard to get in touch with dox a lot of times as he was always busy with whatever while we wanted to get stuff sorted in beforehand so we dont have to prepare for lan last minute. When it was getting dangerously close to lan (like 2 weeks) we wanted crack clan to finally make a move and help us with literally anything and we have just been told that they wont sponsor us due to my csgo vac ban (?) like they were figuring it out for 3 months or something. So we had to eventually pay the whole lan from our own pockets =D
