Video game movies are bad have low expectations

Yea, honestly the only video game movie I've ever enjoyed was Postal.

I thought J.J. Abrams' name was a guarantee for having a film that is at least decent... Do i have to lower my expectation? :\

Im sure itll be enjoyable but dont expect a movie as good as either of the games

Some are ok. The first Pokemon movie, the first tomb raider movie, and the prince of persia movie were all fine. Certainly not Criterion films, but they were fine.

There are also plenty of good short films based on videogames. Forward unto dawn was good.

As long as they don't do a bunch of "in-jokey" references meant to pander to fans of the game, and instead just make a movie in an established universe, it should be fine. If Abrams is reasonably heavily involved, then it will probably be decent, his adaptations of Star Wars and Star Trek were pretty well executed, and had some nods to the previous material without getting to the point of being excessive.

if the warcraft movie taught us anything, movies adapted from a video game tend to be novelty and only make enough momey to break even, if their lucky

the funniest thing to me is that the Postal movie (which I like) is probably one of the few decent movies Uwe Boll made
