BeelthazusFirst he came for the casuals, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a casual.
Then he came for the whitelist, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not playing esea this season.
Then he told us the state of tf2, and I did not speak out—
Because I did not take him seriously.
Then he came for invite—and there was no one left in invite.
Isn't this a b4nny meme? I can't find it though.

No its a bible reference
No it's a refrence to a poem about the holocaust of the nazi singling one minority group after another. and about how no one spoke out about the nazis eliminating people according their ideology or something.

It's bugging my mind that EVL Slin is an actual possibility right now.

doubt it
even if they don't just have highfive play med until nursey/zilly get unbanned they could just get like dingo or ictus now that maL is dead
pretty sure even mason would be more likely than slin tbh

it's just one month why do people think this will kill invite
VandBigToeFailw1zardWhat a strange way for invite to die.
For some reason, this comment truly made me shake my head in sadness.
For many of us, Invite is still a place where we expect the highest levels of gameplay and ethics. If indeed true, it's a crying shame that such shenanigans would get pulled at the highest level of a game that needs Invite so much. Still, we continue to look to the players who DO take this seriously to set a good example.
Has invite really been at admirable levels of gameplay and ethics the past couple seasons before this one?
The only difference I see between this season and the past couple seasons would be the whole eight invite teams ordeal and seemingly no-one (EVL Gaming included) being able to contest FROYOtech with FROYO only having dropped ten rounds across five weeks into the season. I guess there is the possibility that current trends would lead to a pretty boring grand final match-up unlike last season where it seemed like RONIN was coming back from the lower bracket or the season before where FROYO did come back from the lower bracket decisively.
Regardless of that outcome, I don't really understand gloom statements like this. We have been at this point of quality for a while now. How do events like this really sink things that much lower to where people find it genuinely worrisome?
Yes, the same could be said of the Complexity era, the Mixup era, and in recent times, the Froyotech era. One team dominating the proceedings. Some of us, just some, don't watch invite for the level of gameplay or who wins as much as we look to Invite to set standards for how an esport is played. Sure, a whole bunch of players leave, that's fine. Sure, the talent pool and skill of newer teams is perceived as diminishing, that's barely acceptable too. However, when ethical failings come to light, they reflect not just the perpetrators, but the entire league.
If indeed true, your point insinuating that such ethical lapses have been the norm for the last couple of seasons justifies statements of gloom. To the average TF2 enthusiast, it gives the feeling that there's far more dirt than can be covered up. It does not mean we've given up hope; it is only our lament that such behaviour exists and makes us want to support the players and organizations that genuinely want a clean esport.
