Does anybody else turn on TF2 one day and their sens feels totally alien to them? Like you've not spent tens/hundreds of hours getting used to it.
Every now and then I play, and whatever sens I am on feels way too quick or way too sluggish to the extent that I can't hit a thing (at all), even in pubs. Often it happens when the day before I felt like i was making progress or at least being really accurate.
Do you reckon it's something to do with me having different sens for different classes? It only happens to me on scout, but it's so noticeable and it's crippling. I'm constantly switching sens because of it, every week or few weeks or so.
I'm sick of switching my scout sens between 15 and 18 inches and everything in between due to it suddenly feeling like I am playing with Michael J Fox's hand. I'm not just talking about having a bad day, I mean it feels totally alien and uncomfortable to me.

Fuck. I can't imagine playing scout and solly on the same sens.
A lot of good players use different sens for classes right? And often I haven't played another class in between it going from good to right down the shitter.
I'm not sure it's that/

not everyone uses different sens for different classes. even if they do, that doesn't mean you should. you need to find a sens that you're comfortable with, and one that you can flick and track.in my opinion, i feel like using different sens for different classes, would fuck you up with muscle memory.
(and yet im the guy with 4.5/360 lmfao.)

Man I just cannot use a low sens for soldier and I simply can't use a high sens for scout.
There's no way I can combine both classes. The way I aim with each is so different. And tbh, since I made it so I have different sens for different classes, I'm loving it. It's just that on scout every now and then my sens randomly feels way too fast or sluggish, but it's not after I have played another class or anything. I'll spend 3 weeks on a scout sens and start getting decent, and then one day it will just feel like shit.

i used to have that problem and honestly changing the fps cap to 999, made the input lag feel less random and less fps dependant speccially playing jump maps or surfing where you would constantly hit the 300 cap

well, you are either going to have to get used to having the same sens for all classes, or get used to having sens problems. I used to play w different sens for classes, and tbh its not that hard to find good middle ground. You just got to spend time finding whats right for you.

you have to get used to it. trust me. i used to use different sensitivities for everything. it fucked everything up. you just have to change and then play and get used to it - there is no way around it

Find a middleground. Something from 10-13 in sounds good. When I switched to a 12 in, it was hard to play soldier for a couple of days but I came back to my skill level.

But don't some top players like Stark use different sens for different classes?
Surely it's just a case of getting use to it, same as it would be if i had one sens?

I ll test it for a month or too further and see. Right now it feels golden and I'm pounding (well, in relative terms) on Scout, my main, and my aim feels like it's getting better. Demo and Solly feel good too, so I will monitor.
Thanks all, for your wisdom and up and down fraggery.
