tf2pug has been dying down lately. when ever i join there is no one added up. idk if its the times that i join when no one is on, or if the hype has died down. whats going on with it?
another thing, if there isnt a #tf2.pug group aleady can someone make one so that we can make announcements and such the way pug.na does it.

Is tf2pug still using pug.na's bot? If so, I can see why it's dying.

I think the channel has been doing like 4-8 pugs a day but I agree it has slowed down. I think this is because of the bot switch we made. As far as steam groups go we just use the #tf2.pug.na group because it has like 1500+ members.

*off topic response to kirby since he seems to post this on every site and has never heard the coder's perspective*
We actually had a vote and it was a landslide victory for the pug.na bot over the cinq bot. Every coder that works for pug.na / pug agrees that they rather work with pingu's bot because the coding is a lot stronger and add some of the nice features cinq's bot has. That's not to say cinq doesn't have great ideas but as far as coding goes and what other coders have told me the na bot is far superior.

Hi aastrisk, what java b said is correct. The pug.na group is 1200 + members so it's just easier for us to make announcements saying "#tf2.pug needs 3 players" or "#tf2.pug.na needs 1 captain!" I would love to have more moderators for the group though that specifically play pug so if you or others who can be trusted to do so I will gladly give it to you guys :)
As far as why pugs slowed down a bit it's mostly due to the ESEA season and other competitive scenes. It's just the natural cycle of things especially during peak league season. Though that doesn't mean we aren't trying to keep promoting it with our pug tournament and pug.na tournament :)

All I meant was the captain -> random -> captain -> random rotation it had was great for the newer players.

Oh yeah we actually have Narf/Java-B/Fog working on implementing that feature into the na bot. It was just easier to integrate it into the na bot then cinq's bot because cinq's bot still needed a lot of other work done to it. Hopefully it will be out soon! :)

school just started for a lot of people, so things are bound to slow down a bit
