It's actually considered a somewhat viable test for autism because of the extent to which experiments were carried out and validated by other tests for autism and the fact results were significant, obviously it isnt what they use to diagnose autism but it is a test. It's meant to test theory of mind which is what people with autism particularly lack. The ability to think what someone else may be thinking and put yourself in their shoes kind of thing.

But you're correct when it comes to the hollywood part, the study was slated for the fact it uses stills, greyscale and fake emotions for the test as its not how it is in real life.

I answering way too slowly at first but after tabbing back to the thread and reading Dolphin Rider's comment the test suddenly got a lot easier because I realized that it was based entirely on movie emotion-faces instead of real emotion-faces.
