My English class is writing essays about texting and driving that are going to be entered into a community contest. I can write it just fine but I'm having trouble coming up with an interesting, original solution for the prompt.

Any ideas are appreciated and the contest has a cash prize so if I win anything I could probably pay for a decent amount of esea fees for people or something like that.

go in the direction of a driver's ed class that is more hands on with the dangers of texting and driving.

Voice to text has improved quickly especially with Google's deep neural networks. It might not be the complete solution just yet but give it a year or two and it's performance will be decent at least. Voice to text isn't all that bad at the moment either so just encouraging people to use it instead of typing could be a "solution".

everyone already knows texting and driving is dangerous; education isn't the issue. people are naturally self-centered in our society, so the best way imo is to find a way to incentivize not texting while driving. an example would be lowering the driver's insurance premium. problem is idk how you could easily/reasonably monitor whether or not someone is texting while driving.
