Competitive is a fucking joke, when you see the types of players you are matched with you'll start to realize that the TF Team is easily the worst dev team to ever work for Valve.
They are seriously a fucking disgrace, they fucked this game in the ass.
It had a tiny bit of potential but now it is just an outdated casual game with no competitive future.

Why listen to and apply the lessons the competitive community learned over 23 ESEA Seasons, 25 ETF2L Seasons, 16 OzFortress Seasons, etc..... Valve already knew what was best for competitive.....

The new voice codec is on by default on all servers, but I don't see any noticeable difference to be honest. I'm jealous of how good it sounds in CS:GO.

You know what? No. I'm trough with Valve. I'm trough with the no communication. I'm trough with everything being postphoned indefinitely. I'm trough with them still not fixing the major bugs in the game. I'm trough with them publishing half-assed updates. I'm trough with instead of getting all that, getting actually enjoyable updates, we get a shitton of useless cosmetics.
I get that all this doesn't concern your point, but I don't think now should be the time to defend Valve. Maybe some our suggestions are not completely right, they are still sending Valve a message, which is absolutely nessecary. Valve needs to change their ways.

second off your point doesn't even make sense, tf2 has low viewership because valve has killed this game into the ground and people quit for a more lucrative opportunity

It's the exact same audio codec, any difference you think you noticed is from your bias of what to expect, or the quality of somebody's mic.

I think he meant that the quality from CSGO is the same as in TF2 now, not that it's the same from before this update.

Both on high. Could someone record a video of someone talking with the new codec in TF2? I'm curious. The TF2 voicechat still sounds like a bag of chips for me.

But if it's only a problem on my end, I'm really happy we got that codec update. Feels good for faceit and eventually MM when (if) it gets fixed.

Well come on give them slack, they only had dota2 and cs:go's already established matchmaking frameworks to use as a starting point completely ignore in building TF2's matchmaking.
