#63 Half-Life: Alyx in Other Games

I think the gameplay and combat opportunities will be really cool in the game, but it won't feel like traditional Source/Half-Life combat. It's gonna take advantage of all of the stuff you can do in VR. Just imagine stuff like ripping a headcrab off your head to throw it at a combine soldier. Opening a door slightly with your left hand to throw a grenade into a room of combine soldiers with your right and then slamming the door shut with your left fluidly. Imagine throwing a glass bottle into a room of combine soldiers from above to distract them, then using the gravity gloves to steal a grenade from one of them then chucking it right at them. Crouching down to sneak a shot through a little crack in a wall. Lots of cool opportunities, and there's probably a ton more that I haven't thought of. Not to mention the puzzle solving, hacking combine tech, and world exploration and storytelling. This isn't gonna be a gimmicky tech demo where you stand in a room shooting enemies for an hour and a half. This is a full 15+ hour long AAA Half-Life game.

I'm really happy they're not excluding anyone when it comes to VR, too. The game supports the Valve Index, Vive, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Quest (using the link to PC cable), and Windows Mixed Reality. You can play it seated, standing, or with full roomscale. You can teleport, shift (move from A to B smoothly), or move smoothly using the analog stick. They've got everything covered.

and with no crossbow "Stand still" gay meta

edit: is there anywhere to report bugs or is the proyect abandoned?

I believe the developers said that they're currently making a huge update for the game, and that's why they haven't released any patches in a while.

#30 FACEIT Hub Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

Mumble, Discord, and the TF2 in-game voice chat all use the same codec (Opus, I believe). The only differences are latency, and volume. TF2's in-game voice chat doesn't allow you to adjust other peoples volume, so if someone is extremely quiet or extremely loud you can't adjust that (perhaps the TF2 team could steal some code from CS:GO to implement this feature?)

TF2 and Discord seem to have the same delay. I had my friend in Discord talk using both Discord and TF2, and they had identical timings.

Mumble requires you to have a server which costs money, and Discord's servers go down from time to time.

#39 Valve staff abusing powers in TF2 General Discussion
WARHURYEAHi think the biggest thing we can take from this is that there's someone that works for valve that actually plays the game.

You can see EricS often playing TF2 when he's online on Steam, and Jill regularly plays on his community server (Jill also treats his community server more competitively than a pub if that makes sense, making callouts and playing classes like Medic)

Dario Casali is the guy who made Dustbowl, Goldrush, a few HL1 maps, and Final Doom: The Plutonia Experiment if anyone didn't know.

#4 Scout LFT Low Steel/Iron 6s in Recruitment (looking for team)

I think I'll try UGC because it's my first time playing competitive, and then maybe later I'll try ESEA. Thanks!

Yeah, the fee is mostly why I chose UGC over ESEA. If there was no fee, I'd sign up for ESEA in a heartbeat.

Should I post in the UGC forums looking for a team?

#1 Scout LFT Low Steel/Iron 6s in Recruitment (looking for team)

Hey, I've been interested in competitive for a while and haven't gotten the chance to play on a team yet. I've played newbie mixes for about half a year, and I used to play lobbies. I'm rank 4 in matchmaking, but I haven't played much of it and matchmaking rank doesn't really matter.
Note: I say low steel/iron since I don't know if iron exists anymore. I checked the UGC forums and it didn't show iron, only Steel Silver and Gold. I'd like to play in UGC 6s.

I've been playing TF2 for about 8 years, 6 on the PC and 8 on the Xbox. Scout was always my favorite class, his high damage and mobility but low health makes him a great class with a high skill ceiling. I have around 2,440 hours overall, with 1,774 hours on my main account (I used an alternate account for a while to do the achievements again).

A few good things about me is that I have generally good DM ability, and I can run the game at over 60fps at all times. I'm not a god at DM, but I can hit most of my shots and dodge projectiles pretty well.

A few bad things is that I sometimes go for risky plays and I don't have super good game sense. I'm looking to improve this, because DM can't carry a player I've found. I've kinda hit a ceiling where I can't get better by playing pubs, and I believe that competitive is the answer.

I'm looking forward to getting on a team, and I hope to become better at TF2 and have fun.

#2 TF2 update for 10/25/17 in TF2 General Discussion

I like that they're fixing issues with the Steam Controller, before the Jungle Inferno update it was basically unplayable (going to votekick someone would result in your player still moving and shooting, after a match it would still think you're in combat and not work etc)

I just bought the pass, it charged my account but didn't actually give the pass to me. I'm a bit scared now
