I've been doing that for a few months but I'm looking to replace it with a bungee :p

I actually wrapped my cable around one of the cables on the back of my monitor a while back and that worked fine for me, just had to make sure to get enough cable so that I could reach every corner of my desk

I really disliked using tape and I love the Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS Galeru, was def worth imo

+1 for Tt Galeru. Only bungee which keeps the cable off your desk, but parallel to it instead of angling it up, so it doesn't jerk around when you get to the limits of your reach.
