b4nnyI don't feel like torturing myself to go back and read/quote all of your posts on TFTV, reddit and on your Youtube channel but literally every time I see you speak about TF2 in general or competitive TF2 lately, you just echo the same entitled mentality and even take it to further extremes. While I don't disagree that TF2 is a great game and its competitive scene has huge potential that I hope becomes realized, I'm trying to be more realistic about taking provably more effective baby steps towards that instead of making these absurd unrealistic demands that accomplish nothing. Hopefully it eases your concerns a little to at least know that I'm rooting for you over Muselk for the esteemed position of poster boy of the TF2 YouTuber complainer movement.

consider unbanning pomson they fixed the invisible projectile glitch, though the uber drain mechanic is kinda busted

ban jarate it is much too much of a get out of jail free card and dying for bombing a sniper when he happens to throw it last second is actually bullshit
ban rescue ranger the right click is overpowered and the left click is also much too powerful
anything else is whatever (ie. banning cow mangler as it becomes stronger when rescue ranger isn't in the game)

Seriously though, I understand you guys want to unban some weapons that have been nerfed recently, just to see if they gonna work again in comp, and also show Valve what's wrong for them to fix in the future balances; then continue until there's no restriction
But, there's no point to do this, on paper we already know they won't work, and some weapons mechanics are just dumb no matter how their's stats are changed every re-balance; allow them then ban again won't gain any good, but bad experiences for players who attend for that season.
Also we don't even know if Valve ever gathered any data from these type of comp matches, or they only balance things around Pubs

The fact that we've even given the slightest consideration to unbanning the cleaver worries me immensely
MuukiI believe we should go back to how TF2 used to be, and remove all these unlocks that make the game extremely stale and uninteresting to play as well as watch. I suggest we do something like ProMod to revert the demoman damage nerf and medic speed buff so that you can actually push in this game again, instead of teams winning round just from the enemy team failing to push.

They've hardly changed the overall flow of the game and only expanded the viability of different playstyles. Increasing your tolerance to change slightly is not remotely the same as martyrdom.

If TFTV says they're going to use the promod exclusively for competitive TF2, do you expect ESEA and FACEIT to follow suit? And if TFTV refuses to play competitive TF2 that isn't on the promod and refuse to play ESEA and FACEIT if they don't use it too, then you've killed two of the last major companies supporting TF2. And at that point, you've basically killed any money that goes into TF2.
Then there's the problem that you'd have players have to download two versions of TF2 if they want to still play pubs. Even b4nny still plays pubs during downtime and a promod would never have enough players to play pubs. At that point, why not just play regular TF2 for competitive? If you build a promod and people still play pubs, the two versions of TF2 they'd be playing would be completely different and inconsistent.
And what if a new player wants to join TF2? They'd have to look up some TF2 website and download and install a "promod" to just play the game. Most people would rather just play Valve's standard TF2 and stick to playing pubs rather than having to download and follow some website to play "competitive" TF2. And unless somebody wants to develop an anticheat and consistently update it, there's always the possibility of cheaters still being prominent in the promod and possibly even worse.
And finally, if the entire competitive community leaves to play promod (which is unlikely), then essentially you've killed competitive TF2 and now we'd be all living in a false paradise of competitive TF2 that will eventually die on its own since the competitive community has isolated themselves from everybody to play by themselves.

Did Valve not create the ability for us to pick and ban weapon usage on a per server basis?
Now, if this is the case and Valve did give people the ability to create a whitelist, why are we trying to move away from it? Why are we assuming that Valve wants us to use every weapon in the game when they've purposely given us a way to ban weapons? We have been doing exactly what they wanted this whole time by using the feature to ban unlocks, have we not?

Valve added the white list functionality at a time when they had no interest in competitive play, but wanted us to shut up and stop bothering them with complaints about how new weapons affected 6v6.

I think you could do the rebalances with a sourcemod plugin but I'm not sure.
If I am right it would give players the opportunity to experiment with much more in depth rebalances that valve could take inspiration from.
