opened this up thinking this was gonna be another elliott thread but this time trying to have an actual discussion about urine
So Buzzfeed publishes a story they themselves say can't be verified (buzzfeed!), about Trump hiring Russian prostitutes to piss on Obama's bed, which is some fanfic a /pol/ retard made up
/r/politics 40k upvotes and they believe it

cant wait for people to say "lolbuzzfeed" but haven't bothered to read the actual articles buzzfeed puts out
cause buzzfeednews is actually pretty neat
there's no real evidence either way where the document comes from, but you're kind of betting that the CIA wouldn't be able to figure out that someone emailing them from middle America might be full of shit. It seems kinda unlikely an intelligence agency is gonna present an obviously fake report to the POTUS or PEOTUS. The only way it could be fake (imo) is if someone lied to buzzfeed about who they were but the 4chan post didn't say that so w/e
the question is if the CIA is dumb enough to not be able to find a 4chan post

The thing you have to consider is that the 4chan troll didn't directly send it to the cia of course but to an anti trump pundit to mess with him, claiming to be some intelligence officer, and apparently he thought it was real. That was months ago. Who knows what he did with it. That post was on the 1st of November.
That sounds highly unlikely, granted, but these are the same people who seriously think pepe the frog is a white supremacist icon because some pol user trolled a daily beast writer. Somehow 4chan messing with journalists sounds more believable to me than Trump hiring ruskies to piss on a bed Obama slept in, to then sleep in it himself.

you're still having to assume that in the past 6 months no one at the CIA never bothered to look at the source of this information which just seems unlikely
and honestly if you think /pol/ is cool with white ethnostates its hard to say pepe isn't at least a little bit associated
sorry if im coming across like a sheep or w/e. I just feel like a lot of the skepticism ive read has been based on some serious assumptions of incompetence

Have they found those WMDs yet
I'd just take this with a grain of salt though. I know some type of people are still upset at his election but cmon, who've gone from russian hacking to now russian golden showers and everybody just eats it up
eeeand honestly if you think /pol/ is cool with white ethnostates its hard to say pepe isn't at least a little bit associated
The whole internet, including those racists, had been using it for years. Just because some pol troll lied to a journalist and the journalist believed him, does not mean it's associated with them

the actual CIA report didn't say their were WMDs tho
but yeah you're definitely right about being skeptical. The actual document isn't really as important as the fact that multiple high level people have been briefed on it. Supposedly both Trump and Obama have had CIA briefings and various Senators have read it as well.

It also seems that Mccain was one of the first people to be notified of this fact, probably explains why he insists on starting a special Senate committee to look into connections between Trump's campaign staff and Moscow for the last couple weeks.
"The Guardian can confirm that the documents reached the top of the FBI by December. Senator John McCain, who was informed about the existence of the documents separately by an intermediary from a western allied state, dispatched an emissary overseas to meet the source and then decided to present the material to Comey in a one-on-one meeting on 9 December, according to a source aware of the meeting. The documents, which were first reported on last year by Mother Jones, are also in the hands of officials in the White House."

People's theory on how that went. But just like the report, not verified and most likely false.

that timeline still depends heavily on the CIA not vetting the claims to any substantial degree. Really no matter how you look at it there's something that has people in Washington thinking this is important.
this thread is a succinct discussion about why the document is pretty poorly written from an IC perspective. It looks pretty likely this came from a civilian source. I figure the CIA can figure that out kind of quick and do a bit of vetting.
also i think CNN reported on it first and then buzzfeed actually leaked the document but im not 100%
