ive tried editing width height and x and y values in crosshair section but to no avail

You'll have to make a bigger VTF. Something like 512x512 should do. Center the 64x64 crosshair in that, place the weapon icon down at the bottom of the 512x512 square. Then change width and height to 512 in the txt file
