a lan where in the last 2 minutes of the last game they dropped the other teams med pushing last and failed to move quickly for literally no reason

How was that raymon's fault? Freestate drew 2 players back at the end for like 2 minutes. That is in no way raymon's fault.

I mean i'll give its probably due to the teamplay aswell that they lost but there was alot of times in my mind that they really failed to take advantage of situations based on uber ads and situations with a little faster paced play or more "risk" shall we say, they'd have won more situations and even if they didn't the backfire potential would have been very minimal (i.e like pushing faster when their med drops so if you fail the push their meds only on like 10 or 20% instead of 50-60%), the pre-i58>i58 roster of Crowns never played so slow that a 50% uber ad was a failed push so many times, really sloppy play IMO from them, and raymon should have been telling their maincaller about an issue like that, they had the upper hand so many times (which is a core part of their playstyle) and then gave it away for next to no reason.

In that last game I said to a friend who was also watching the game "I bet 7 Don't push until the other team is atleast 40% uber" and I was right, they were doing that in multiple games even outside of grand finals

I can understand not wanting to throw away such a careful situation but there is a thin line between being safe and being too safe and I feel that most of the time they were playing too safe.

downfrag me if you want I'm gonna stick to my guns :)

I mean there were fights where Raymon could have committed with his team and they probably would have won, but either way he performed extremely well in general

You're so incredibly wrong about what ingame is and isn't the medic's fault. You're mistaking poor team decisions for poor medic decisions because they involve ubercharge.

Nursey and Raymon both made correct decisions not to pop to a lone spy pistoling them because using the uber in such an awful position to an easily fraggable class can lose them the round anyway.

Se7en's ubers that game were usually significantly better than most of the other teams, they mainly lost scrappy fights and beefed last pushes. When the ubers (on last mainly) went bad, it was mostly his team not getting kills, not Raymon's fault.

In addition, Raymon managed to consistently win his team fights that they had no right to win by hitting really good arrows and he consistently outplayed players chasing him, trying to force him, bombing him etc in almost every situation, with the lowest deaths almost every map. He also managed to do this without baiting his team, which is why the situations he was getting out of were so clutch.

Raymon's medic play this lan was exemplary. Nursey also played really well but its hard to hold a candle to that performance, and in the end Froyo was overall the far better team.

Please let's not derail this thread any further.

Max_I mean there were fights where Raymon could have committed with his team and they probably would have won, but either way he performed extremely well in general

like I said, his survivability and other mechanics are good, I just feel they failed to capitalize on advantages because of some of those attempts to save himself, when you look at his positioning in some situations, sure he's not gonna die but when they get uber and push he's so far back that the other teams not gonna be too far from their own uber to refight and we saw that more than once in the games they played.

tbf Nursey actually had more heals on gran than Raymon.
Like i was looking up the logs to be like "Look how raymon only dying twice gave se7en a heal advantage" and then

Shout out to all the fine people who helped me put this event on.

Our fine casting and analyst team. Getawhale, kaidus, bren, truktruk, fragile, dreamboat, maelaa, slin and extine.

To our production team who worked crazy hours to bring you the show. Thanks Todd (Director) Sam (Graphics Operator) Kyle (Replay Operator) and Tino (Observer) and DrShadowPuppet (Server Admin) who ran like 12 servers by himself. These guys did a phenomenal job!

All the volunteers we had at Esports Arena that made the event a possibility.

To Dan (Teapot) from the Halo and Shadowrun communities for the work he did to make those games happen.

To all the teams that came out from all over the world. It was amazing to meet you all. I truly felt like a part of your community!

To Dashner who created the textures in game for us and loves this community more than anyone I think. Can't wait for the Doc.

To everyone that let me interview them for the documentary I'm working on! You were all amazing

To Cody and all those at Weedmaps for making this event the spectacle it deserved to be.

To marketplace.tf for always supporting TF2 to the fullest.

I'm sure I'm forgetting so many people but I just want to say how much I truly enjoyed making this event a possibility. I would love to have a Rewind 2.0 and don't see a reason why it wouldnt happen!

Thank you so much to everyone that tuned in and watched the event. From everyone at Esports Arena, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

P.S. A massive shout-out to Samiface who I didn't forget, I just like to give her a hard time. This was the first event she's worked on since joining our team here at Esports Arena and I think it's safe to say it was a great success. Amazing job Samantha. I'm proud of you!
