I'm tired of all these frequent lag spikes late at night when I'm playing TF2. What causes this and how tf do I fix this shit?????

Check your net graph 4. I had a similar problem on wifi, my net graph basically had regions of empty space between the "fancy lines" as fire put it every few seconds. My wifi was on an empty channel so there was no interference there, I tried switching routers, didn't work. What fixed it for me was getting a long ass ethernet cable and playing like that. Supposedly powerline adapters work too, but I don't have any personal experience with them so I can't tell you for sure.

when I used a powerline it used to disconnect occasionally. better than wifi worse than an ethernet cable.

except present tense, yes. very easy to reconnect tho, and it kinda seems like the number of disconnects varies depending on how your house is wired. Some people never have any problems and some people it seems to never work ever.
