I personally wouldn't really understand spending much more than $100 on headphones; if you want a good set that sounds great and is industry respected the HD280 pros are $100 and plenty bad ass. I've tried a couple sets that are more expensive and IMO it doesn't make too much of a difference in sound. That said they could be more comfy or fit you better or maybe you can notice that sonic difference that I can't, but if you wanna save a little money over those I'd recommend the HD280's.

There's a certain point where spending more on headphones won't matter if you don't have other audio equipment to plug your headphones into.
If you're not really into making music or listening to EXTREME AUDIO QUALITY LOSSLESS 4028K WAV music then getting better and more expensive headphones is pointless after a certain price range.

that range is definitely not 100 dollars lol.
those are very good headphones (much better/more comfortable than hd280s) especially for $70 dollars, even without an amp.
