About four months ago, the idea was pitched that Teamfortress.TV expand into casting and run its own show instead of being dependent upon others to provide coverage. We had our first cast under the TF.TV name on December 18th, with djc and cbear handling a cast of Don't Trip versus bp, the team formerly known as Don't Stand. Lange was handling the camera for that affair, and it was one of the best casts we put out all season, with good coverage of the storylines and great camera angles to catch all of the action. It set the stage for what we feel was a thorough and enjoyable season of Invite Team Fortress 2 coverage.
But we have bigger and brighter plans for the future. Anyone who has stuck around and heard enigma's thoughts on the matter knows that this site is not meant to just be a set of forums or a stream aggregate--it is meant to encompass all regions of Team Fortress 2 and do its best to unify them.
We'll do our first part in making that goal a reality as we are proud to announce our expansion into European TF2 coverage.
I know the first question most of you will ask is "that's nice... now who's involved?" We sought out the smartest individuals, the best casters, and the most reliable and aware camera persons we could find and have come up with a collection of talented and dedicated individuals.
Our stable of casters will include:
- Former and current Premiership players such as Greg, kaidus, ipz, and Zebbosai
- Europe's three times reigning caster of the season, Admirable, who will be lending us his golden voice
- The enterprising Huhy (who has been most prominent in his work as an ETF2L admin and content provider for Crack Clan's European team) and lexs (known for his efforts in casting with Premium TF2) on camera
Though he will not be officially joining the TeamFortress.TV staff, Comedian has offered his assistance as we deal with the launch of our new division and should make some appearances behind the camera.
Helping us out with some of the behind-the-scenes work including graphics and general production will be Skyride, who has done so much for this community at this point that to even trying to list his contributions would be a disrespect to him.
Our first official cast has not been officially announced yet, so make sure to stay tuned to the schedule for details. The upcoming match between Epsilon eSports and Crack Clan looks pretty tempting, and that should be happening sometime in this coming week. We hope that you will continue to support us in our effort to bring our viewers the best in competitive TF2 coverage, and we hope that we can continue to put out quality content on a weekly basis for you to enjoy.
