How much farther can the quality drop? The Force Awakens was pretty terrible from a story line perspective. Rehashing the old Star Wars plots turned out pretty bad IMO.

i didnt even watch episode 7, despite being a huge star wars fan, just because I had no real interest in watching it. yearly releases are basically guaranteed to turn a series into complete shit though
