riotbzby clicking "disagree", on "This unlock makes 6v6 better", are we saying that we think the weapon makes 6v6 worse or just has no impact? I've been answering assuming it means it has no impact.
Just answer it in the way that seems right to you, my impression from browsing responses so far is that this is what most people have been doing. Either way is fine really, it combines with the other information to have more meaning.

It means that the unlock does not make 6v6 better, it doesn't matter btw because popular vote means shit when it comes to unlock bans these days.

Will be interesting to see what people think about banning/unbanning items that don't make a difference. Personally I'd ban them because that cuts down on stupid variables you can't predict but need to consider.
ty for making this survey though, its a good idea.

I just finished filling this out. Have to say wasn't sure what you meant by "Haven't seen this weapon used before" I assumed you meant in a 6s setting, so I marked a lot of them as if I hadn't seen them used cause I haven't in 6s, but I've definitely seen alot of them in pubs and HL on a regular occasion.

Is a 6v6 competitive environment, I think it's strongly implied by the context but I could have made it absolutely clear.

NurseyCow Mangler & Jarate (outside of being straight upgrades & annoying) are too random for competitive. Unlocks like the gunslinger did not make the engineer more full time viable.
The CM5K is random? How?
How is it annoying?
It's definitely not a straight upgrade, not being able to kill sentries is significant.
What do you mean by the Jarate being random, weird hit detection on lumpy surfaces? Collisions with teammates?

It's not random like the beggars in the sense that you literally cannot aim where the rockets go and it's determined randomly (albiet pseudo-randomly but let's not get into that), but more in the sense that you can decide right click and spam some spot across the map randomly and if someone walks around a corner into it they get set on fire and take a million damage.
The jarate is random in the same sense you can randomly spam it with no downside and if you get lucky you will pee on people and they take crits and die in one shot. They're both completely brainless and can be super rewarding if you get lucky.
About not being able to kill sentries, this has been debated since it got unbanned but imo it's not really a big downside because if you're playing roamer, you gain the ability to literally spam brainlessly for an unlimited amount of time without having to worry about ammo management, as well as the ability to accidentally set people on fire from across the map at little to no risk to yourself, while sacrificing the ability to spam down sentries. Most of the time, it's a pocket or demoman who kills the sentry anyways so it doesn't end up mattering (you can even charge shot and disable them if you're feeling extra cheeky). I'm sure if you asked blaze or any good roamer who uses it they would say the upsides definitely outweigh the downsides. The only reason most roamers don't use it is because the rockets come out in between the center of the screen (original) and the side (stock) which makes jumping weird, and the explosions are visually distracting and can't be replaced like other rls.
Also to the point of the thread, I filled out the first two and gave up. Definitely not worth my time, this has been discussed a million times and people should know by now what shit is broken (or if they don't they will next time the global whitelist discussion comes around)

The cow mangler and the jarate are straight upgrades and straight dumb
having infinite ammo is straight up dumb on a large number of maps (for instance, if you don't run it on granary you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage). On top of all that, the charge shot is just unnecessary and janky. It's just free spam unless you're doing it at dumb times and it can literally decide fights as all it takes to eat one is a minor fuckup because oftentimes you can't see/hear it.
The jarate just slows down the game, oftentimes if you're jarate'd you just have to wait for it to go away.
I really wanted both of these to be banned last season and I still want them banned.

Uh, no you can't. It's as random as firing a charged sticky, except you have one shot instead of eight, and no falloff. Those two elements don't make it any more or less random.
You can argue that the charge shot having no falloff makes it overpowered, to which I say, it is incredibly telegraphed by both sound and a delay before firing, and it is extremely ammo inefficient. If you get hit with it, it is 100% your fault.

I actually agree 100% with this except that's literally not what random means, unless you mean it feels random to the other team because it's not adequately telegraphed. That's actually a good point I haven't thought of.

Oh, it's definitely better than the stock, but there are tangible downsides (Kritz and Sentries), vs something like the old Enforcer or the Ubersaw, where there was literally no reason to use stock over them.
botmode having infinite ammo is straight up dumb on a large number of maps (for instance, if you don't run it on granary you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage).
then run it.
i would argue the game is vastly improved by the removal of the "spam into gran yard for 6 minutes and push when they run out of ammo" strat.

Is this actually a thing that happens? Is losing fights because someone walked into a charge shot actually occurring, or is this a purely hypothetical thing, like pushing because someone left to get an ammo kit? How often have you experienced it? Once a week? Once a season? If this is actually a real problem I can see the argument that the CM5K should be blacklisted. I have killed 1 Medic and 1 Scout with charge shots this season and both of them had literally 5-6 seconds to move out of the way, but...IM.

There hasn't been a submission in over 24 hours now so I'll close this tomorrow and start the analysis. Last chance to complete this if you haven't seen it before or were putting it off.

if you've ever played against blaze with that weapon it's literally the biggest meme ever, on granary he timed his rollout and charge shot that it would hit the combo when they came through choke or light the medic on fire as he came out on catwalk (i remember seeing skeez get lit on fire like 3 mids in a row by it or some shit lmao)
there's also a bunch of other dumb shit you can do with it on other maps like metalworks where you can rollout choke and charge shot lower forcing the combo to either get lit on fire, go out valley side (which results in them most likely losing the mid due to shit positioning) or walk up and come out choke late (which also results in death because choke is aids)
also practically speaking it does make up for the fact that granary_abortion is a shit map and the yard area doesn't have adequate ammo but that's not to say the weapon is broken as fuck and should be banned
same goes for when you say 'then use it', just because anyone can (and probably should at least on certain maps) run it, doesn't mean it's not a stupid fucking unlock lol (also the text you quoted, 'if you don't run it on granary you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage' definitely implies that he realizes how much of a detriment it is not to use it so saying 'just run it' doesn't really do much

you would be surprised how common it is actually, not like medics are dying left and right to this shit but it is quite a common occurance for someone to be chilling in a stalemate and get hit by a charge shot (because the retard cow mongoloid can spam it endlessly without thought until someone walks into it) and then have to get a pack and be out of the fight for at least a few seconds (scrimming froyo on granary i remember sitting in left yard and getting hit with or narrowly doding a charge shot because everybody was looking at the other ppl peeking choke/spamming)
its like playing trainsawlaser and getting killed by the raining train bullshit, like yeah you can see it from a mile away and have a chance to dodge it but that's not to say its not stupid in the first place
