It's quite hard to give you a straight answer, so assuming you want something for gaming, specifically for source games like TF2/CS:GO, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X23f4C Probably something like that, but it very heavily depends on what you're gonna use it for. You can fiddle around with which parts you want, if you plan on having windows or not, whether you want an ssd or not, etc. The list goes on.

save yourself $50 and get a G4560 instead of an i3. I have it and it runs TF2 at 300-400fps with a config.

A G3258 from intel would also do the trick. Plus you can overclock it

G3258 doesn't have hyperthreading. (But if you can actually overclock it to 4.3ghz then damn)

It's definitely possible. I set up a friend with an msi mobo, gtx 1050ti, i5 6500, and 8gb of ram with a boot ssd and and extra hard drive for games for about 600$.

Also why a 60 USD WD Black 500GB when a WD Blue 1TB is 50 USD?
As #3 said, get a G4560, almost the same performance for cheaper

Here's an adjusted version

I recommend spending about 50 bucks more for a decent 128gb SSD for windows boot, makes boot a lot faster
don't see why more people don't recommend them when decently sized ones go for pretty cheap and are years faster than a mechanical drive

What the fuck is that abomination?

#8
Correct.
Fuck the WD Blue though. More expensive and slower than what Seagate and Toshiba offer.

Also fuck this whole mini ITX single channel RAM bullshit.

Improved build with optional SSD because SSD and RX 570 because fuck the 1050 Ti and here's why:

Yeah no.
Even before nVidia doing at best nothing for old GPUs and at worst crippling them via drivers the benchmarks don't really agree with you.

At 1080p
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_760/27.html
https://www.computerbase.de/2013-06/nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-test/4/#abschnitt_leistung_mit_aaaf
760 ~ 93-96% of 670. Same card after all.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_950_SSC/30.html
https://www.computerbase.de/2015-08/nvidia-geforce-gtx-950-test/3/#abschnitt_tests_in_1920__1080
950 ~ 90-95% of 760.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1050_Ti_Gaming_X/27.html
https://www.computerbase.de/2016-10/geforce-gtx-1050-ti-test/3/#abschnitt_benchmarks_in_1920__1080
1050 ~ 114% of 950.

So all stock clocks (and the 1050 does OC better) it should be
1050 ~ 95-104% of 670.

I wouldn't call the 670 faster.

And a new 1050 can be had for 85$

Tbh, sry if I made myself look like an idiot, but this was just to prove that you can build something that will run games under 500, but it definitely wasn't optimized for the money.

Yes, it certainly is possible.
Just keep in mind many will just use the first partlist they see without questioning any of the choices.

#15
Now if only he were in Europe so European prices would be relevant. Alas, they aren't.
And the cheapest I can find without trying is 110€.

It's still a used GPU.
Even if we're comparing used GPUs newer (not 5 years old) and faster ones can be had for that price.
