There's already a few thread about 120hz monitors as well as this one specifically. people say it has terrible input lag and isn't worth the money. I can't say since I haven't tried it.

if you dont have a 120hz monitor and youre coming from anything but a crt this is definitely an upgrade and arguably worth the 200 bucks

I would honestly rather use a 60hz low-input lag monitor than the Acer 120. Trust me. It's a waste of your money. It's "smooth," but everything is laggy. It's almost impossible to snipe, reacting as scout or any other combat class is also impossible. You'll be wasting 200 dollars on this 120hz monitor instead of shelling out another 100 for a real one. Not worth it. Used it for like 3 years.

Out of curiosity were you aware of how much it was affecting you at the time or was it more of a eye opener after you tried something much better?

A lot of people game on older possibly crappier LCD's. Mine is likely one of them and really I would have a hard time attributing anything to my monitor, then again I don't have anything to compare it to.

A bit of a bump but I think I should answer this because it's important and people seem to still not understand how much of a waste of money it is. Yes, it changed a LOT when I got a BenQ. Benq's were at LAN and I thought the reason I was drastically better at lan than online was due to ping, but it was mainly the quality of the monitor compared to the Acer, which I found out when I bought my own BenQ. It felt completely different, refreshing. So, seriously, please stop buying these monitors.

I had this monitor as my first 120Hz, mainly because of the price. When I got a BenQ, it was like I was switching from 60 to 120 all over again. It's smoother than 60 for sure, but I don't think it's that good.

I have not used BenQ yet, so I cannot give you remarks on its performance; however, the Acer is definitely an upgrade from a normal 60Hz monitor. I, personally, have not owned any other 120Hz monitors so I could not compare this one to others. If you are on a budget and just want to go up to 120Hz, I think this monitor is a good step until you can get enough money to purchase an expensive BenQ.

Btw if you are thinking of getting this one I am selling mine for cheaper than a new one (I was hoping for around $150ish). No scratches. Works well. No problems. Just a heads up if you do want to purchase one. Just my thoughts. Add me if you want to discuss the monitor more.

You get what you pay for.

Save the extra money and make a good purchase.
Of all things, don't cheap out on a monitor.

I have it and the input lag, as other people have said, is really poor. Been using it for the past 3-4 months and I can tell you that my shots (scout and sniper) has been worse than any other season. Luckly, I wasn't taking this seasons very seriously.

It's fine if you're not playing games with or only playing single player. Pretty decent for a cheap 3d video

I'm not sure why someone downvoted my question as it's a relevant one to ask for us folk w/ older LCD monitors, but thanks for answering it. It sounds like it's just something you won't be totally aware of until you try a low lag monitor.

As it stands I attribute certain issues to shitty netcode or hit reg but perhaps some of those are symptoms are actually contributed to by high input lag. I guess I'll find out when I make the switch down the road.
