This is why Coldfront should be back in the rotation.
The first thing I'd look at is to clean the whole case and the heatsink as best as you can. Things get clogged.
Once that's done, if you're still getting hot, I'd think about how many case fans you have - if you've only got say, 2-3, you could maybe improve airflow by adding a 3-4$ fan and call it a day so long as it doesn't totally screw up your air flow and you have space for it.
If you're STILL overheating, then I'd go for the thermal paste sometimes people put WAAAAAAAY too much on there, especially if it's a prebuilt computer or whoever put it together didn't really know what they were doing. I've never forget crespi's macbook post where his CPU was literally a giant mass of paste lol.
81 C isn't THAT high for an intel, so my guess would be it's just a dirty heatsink.

Another problem if you are using the stock heatsink is that it simply isn't working correctly anymore. I changed the thermal paste on my CPU several times and it did not fix the problem. I had to buy a powerful heatsink and it never comes close to overheating again.
