For anyone who knows nothing about dota but is interested in watching this, there's going to be a newcomer stream aimed at helping new people understand what's going on.
My heart says EG but my brain says Liquid. They're playing really well imo (ignoring them almost losing a tournament to Planet Odd).

VP is currently at the highest peak they've ever been at
Solo is the best 5 pos in the game right now and they're impossible to draft against
2017 is the year of the CIS

It feels like western teams will be dominant this year, even though China got a lot of spots in the tournament.
Really like how VP is looking, especially after that Summit performance.

OG to choke once again. One qualifier team will be a finalist. EG to win it all.

can anyone break down the current basic meta for a guy who hasnt seen any dota since ti4
can anyone break down the current basic meta for a guy who hasnt seen any dota since ti4
Sadly there isnt one... I think literally every single hero but 1 or 2 were picked during the groups. Nothing isnt viable, so its more how the teams play individually rather then any meta that is required.

Its very much a good thing, dota is in the best place it has ever been. I said sadly more because it is now impossible to actually explain anything beyond "They try and kill one another"

eg :(
also why a dota card game, it's gonna be a fucking hearthstone clone and gonna have to compete with an already well established and well received game
edit: apparantly it's like clash royale but dota so that actually doesn't sound that bad, but at that point just go play actual dota
