So I realised it's been a long time since anyone has gotten a community item - Does anyone know if Valve ever intend to start giving them out again?
I can think of many very worthy people who deserve a sparkly gun.

Valve has been sent a list a few times in the past couple of years and they were supposedly considering it, but I'm not holding my breath on seeing any.
Isn't like only 2 people from eu and 2 from na are the ones that still form part of the competitive scene and are also community item owners?

As far as I know, the batch that I was part of in November 2012 was the last one, so I'm not very surprised many of those people are no longer active.
Apart from those batches, they've more recently given discoverers of critical bugs special items.
If they gave them out again I'd say Beater deserves one at this point, he has done for some time imo.

I have an item myself but yes majority of item owners have long since left the scene.
I bring this topic up as I really stopped putting a lot of effort into contributing to the game many years ago and I see people working hard in this game every day to keep it afloat go unaccredited, not just in competitive TF2 (leagues, casting organizations, content producers, LANs) but in so many other areas as well.
If Valve really do pay attention to community forums, they should know rewarded people who give their time for nothing to keep their game going with some token of gratitude is a good and popular move.
If only those people had the same amount of passion as cyzer

They stopped giving them out about half the game's life ago. I imagine they wish people would stop talking about it.
They've given them out more recently than that if I remember correctly, but none of the recipients were affiliated with competitive.
I've heard that some players have nominated others to get a community weapon? I'm not 100% sure what that means, but some guy named Noobinator who has a community sticky launcher nominated some pod-caster, Future, to get a community black box.

What reason would Valve have for wanting people to forget about community items?
All_Over_RSkev chev should get community item for his valuable contributions to tf.tv and tf2 as a whole
We all know that the real number 1 contributor of the tf.tv is Bill ''THEBILLDOZER'' himself
