Don't they ban people for having attitudes? I mean yeah acting like an asshole isn't a good thing, but I think people should have the right to compete just the same. Especially if the game is suppose to be really competitive, so what if people act up? Only personality that's acceptable will be goody-two shoes, which is kinda boring.
I'm pretty sure the reason this game isn't big because of the language we use, noone wants to hear rape, the f word, etc.

It has a $1 million LAN every year. That's fairly major.

IIRC, there was a large amount of community backlash to the banning/dq'ing of teams with Dota2/HoN teams. Not sure what came of that really, I didn't follow through on that subject.
I can't argue with the second point, though I suspect it's more due to the success of early League tournaments.
You're not really paying to win, per say. Anything you can buy with RP (short of skins) is purchasable with IP. What you're really doing is paying so you don't have to spend the next week grinding for a single champion. Anyone with a fuckton of time could realistically reach the same "power" as a pro player, disregarding actual skill/knowledge. Caveat being that the necessary amount of time is astronomically large.

I think this is mostly a byproduct of the popularity of streamers and/or high-profile players. If a new player to the game witnesses on of these players troll/rage/flame/etc., they are given the impression that it's okay to emulate that behavior in their games.

Most of this I know due to lurking r/league. :x

Well lol is by far the biggest eSport so isn't supporting it the best way to support eSports?

riot has a really scummy business model. they want to maintain a total monopoly on the competitive moba scene and they do this by banning orgs who have a team in another moba/arts game. they also won't support tourneys that have another moba game besides lol. also without the money they've pumped into the tourneys lol wouldn't be nearly as big competitively as it is today (though that is arguably not a bad thing).
not to mention the fact that they sell champions, and in a really scammy way for new ones: release them as really overpowered and then nerf them when a lot of people have bought them.
i'd rather support valve and dota 2 as i see it having a way longer life than league.

dota between d1 and d2 is still arguably the largest esport since dota.cn is still mostly entrenched on d1 as a result of everyone having bootleg wc3
But in that way riot is severly slowing down the growing eSports so that they can grow lolsports. I get it now thanks guys :)
Riot Games is sucking the life out of eSports. Fuck them. Seriously.
I support DOTA 2 because its more fun to just look at, which is pretty important to me because I die all the fucking time.
LoL, makes me laugh. Feels like the CoD of mobas, I'll personally be happy when it dies

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just ban someone because the company that sponsors them sponsors another team for a different moba, there are like 5 teams that are sponsored throughout both games
riot is ran by scumbags idk why you would be surprised, the game is a joke competitively i think it was coded by 101 programming students
3 years to add spectator good joke its an esport yeah
