The power Valve give us with their game is still so amazing to me. The more restrictive games I see released, the more grateful I am for the incredible autonomy that we enjoy in 6s. We are able to run our own tournaments however wherever and whenever we want. We can modify the game not only at the server level, but at the user level via custom huds and configs. Valve gave us the tools we needed to build the game out how we wanted to play it, and due to this and many contributions from talented community members we have logs, whitelists, game coordinators, mge, item donations, and a myriad of other neat things that most games simply don't have. Our game isn't perfect, but we have been given the freedom to call it our own, and to share it with each other and the world.
Thank you Valve for the greatest game ever, and thank you to everyone who came before us and who will come after us that are working to improve the game little bits at a time. From mapmakers to hud designers, we all benefit from the work of one another, and the Team Fortress 2 team who allows us this legacy.

yeah. the best video games i've played have one thing in common, which is that they have mechanics that weren't necessarily meant to be there, but which enhance gameplay and add a sense of exploration for its players. whether it's inventing the stair stab or abusing ramps to slash two seconds off a rollout or airblast surfing or something we don't even know about yet.

its been months or even years since tf2's blog has been promising mayor updates but nothing really has been done, today now that is its 10th birthday there are absolute 0 signs of any update, while tf2's biggest representator, b4nny, kept telling his subs that something big was gonna happen today. And what do we get? "something big is comming soon" for the millionth time. They didnt even do anything for TF's 21st birthday other than adopt a child which is great but I'm sure people dont really care about good samaritans.
This doesnt mean people dont have the right to enjoy the game, but as much as we hate tf2's "rivals" like overwatch at least they always did something about its mega toxic community (and dont you guys dare to say that you are not fucking toxic) and valve doesnt even give 2 shits about it, face reality, valve doesnt care anymore, they were my heroes, but I Guess that is over now

I remember making a steam account in 2011 to play tf2 on my brothers laptop after it went free to play, I just ran around trying to punch people as a heavy but that shit was so much fun. I met some of my best friends in this game and winning my first esea match was probably the most fun ive ever had in a video game. i learned so much from teams i played on that id never learned anywhere else that ive been able to apply to other areas in my life, and i will always remember this as my favorite game and community ive ever got to be a part of.

first you should not sugarcoat people who are considered professionals at what they do, second you are literally admitting that is okay to leave things half-assed, 3rd you think they dont owe anything to anyone after I bought the orange box in 2008, then again on my 1st steam account I bought AGAIN all the half life games (I also had L4D 1 and 2, and so on) and after it got hijacked I bought the whole half life games YET AGAIN because I do consider their job masterpieces? what's the point of starting a project and milking it and gathering so many fans if you are not going to give them what they have been asking for when they had full support, money and encouragement? and maybe I'm a retard for spending money like that but keep in mind that there were other MILLIONS who worshipped valve and Gabe Newell and spent so much money for them including myself because we had expectations for decades, if you wanna say that I sound like a little kid for having expectation when I shouldnt then you are COMPLETELY WRONG. People who are sugarcoating valve are legit giving them a pat in the back for trashing the projects they've been promising for years (I know HL3 is a different story because Gaben never gave a clear answer about it but left all of us on a cliffhanger for more than a decade)

Started playing TF2 in 2007 on Xbox 360 for 2 days and stopped. 4 years later I watch a TF2 video on Machinima Respawn and regained interest in TF2 again. From here I begin to transition into PC gaming overall with TF2. Spending the summer and fall of 2012 just learning how to play the game with mostly playing on a TF2 neon heights minecraft themed server, mainly focusing on learning the mechanics and aiming on keyboard and mouse. What got me into competitive TF2 was watching all of the ESEA S11 LAN matches for TF2. This would lead me into playing in esports in 2013 starting with a season of 6v6 UGC steel red division (maining medic), playing a couple of matches (going 1-1) before the team would fold After that I transitioned into playing ESEA in S14. Playing medic for my old team big hams. Winning the team would go 8-8 after the season. At one point my team was 4th place in ESEA open (8-2) before the team folded. I remember this completely even after all these years. Creating memories that will last a lifetime. From going into golden cap winning my first ESEA match on cp_process_rc3, to winning a very close game on cp_snakewater 5-4. To almost playing back to back gravelpit matches. (Winning the first game 2-1 with the second game being a FFW) to winning winning both metalworks matches late at night. Special shoutout to my friend Snowblind who played on my ESEA S14 Open team with 300 ping on scout. I have been playing TF2 for so long, and I still enjoy playing the game today. Shoutout to the following people who have helped me become a better TF2 player: Pyyyour, Hero (Chad), Misterslin. CHEERISS, cfoogle, Cube, Huhy, Byte, Numlocked, Kiwi, Shade, stabbystabby. snowblind, Yuki, b4nny, tagg, clockwork, my teammates I played with in UGC and ESEA. and lastly to YouTuber ObviouslyJesus for inspiring me to play TF2 again back in early 2011 with that machinima respawn TF2 video.
TF2 is the best game I have played in my life and I am grateful for the TF2 community that has kept me playing TF2 to this day.
