i don't think it would be logical for you to be able to throw gas from a jerry can very far, so maybe its a close range stickytrap kind of item. also theres still potential for an lg if they change one of the existing flame throwers to hitscan in the patch notes tomorrow. unlikely but a man can dream
So the fireball gun explains the dds changes
I really don't mind the whole "increased strength airblast" thing. Now that you don't get stunlocked by it you can probably just escape a lot of the time you get airblasted instead of just being a sitting duck that takes zero skill to hit. Pyro actually having to choose between airblasting you and killing you would be sick, even if the airblast part is more effective
Is The Gas Passer a csgo-smoke kind of wep (would be cool maybe?) or a jarate-kind that follows the enemies (which would suck)
Or a combination of the 2 so that you are smoked if you go through a static cloud?

if the new flamethrower is like a projectile, is it gonna be like a fire rocket launcher?

im kinda confused why valve did this. it seems like it could be cool, but this will just make pyro slow down the game even more than it already does.

I hope its not... if its a fireball it should be more like a pipe with a bigger splash?

Seems to me that they removed a lot of the airblast's ability to hold choke points and replaced them with an optional item that's sacrificing direct damage (and now, movement) for area control.
Of course to what extent will have to be tested thoroughly, but that comes later.

didn't see any changes about the angle that reflects can happen so assume you can still get reflected from 180+ degrees

Update PageHit detection for both players and projectiles is now a consistent cone.
Hard to say what a consistent cone means, but I'd be willing to bet it means a fixed cone in front of the pyro.

so yes, you can still airblast rockets soldiers aren't even looking at you to fire

i think the Gas can works like a Smoke grenade sounds more fit than a smoke blower
throw it on the ground to quickly block an entrance, instead of running around blowing gas into people

this whole pyro jetpack thing got me thinking, would you deal mini-crits to an airborne pyro using it's jetpack with the direct hit and reserve shooter?
if so, pubs just got a whole lot more fun

area denial is so gay
edit: Also denying uber with pyro should be much stronger now

If the jetpack works like we all think it does, the detonator lost it's primary niche. I hope its getting a rework in day 4 patch notes.
A little known fact about the detonator is that its actually relatively consistent in terms of doing damage by applying afterburn to most/all of the enemy team. That niche is only really relevant in 7s however, as HL will see both teams using pyros (extinguishes) and it doesn't work in the other formats for obvious reasons. I have only seen it used this way like once or twice ever tho, but I wonder if this will also get impacted by afterburn changes
i feel like they're going to change the majority of unlocks in day 4.
it would be pretty nice if we ended up with a huge distinction between pre- and post-pyro update tf2.

Can someone make a new thread to summarise all the changes? I don't want to go through 14 pages to look for it

You can go through only 3 pages on tf2 website, way less than 14.

This summarizes it up pretty well

I know it's /r/tf2 but this is actually a decent post with all the info from the different days.
