Make your periods 2 sizes bigger. Makes it look like you've written more.
If you routinely have stuff you have to write, put yourself on a writing diet - schedule times during your week where you'll focus on nothing but writing as long as you have writing to do. It helps avoid the mental block and procrastination phases.

Start with the section you are most excited about writing. Come back to the introduction. In fact, don't write your intro or conclusion until you have everything else done. Also, if you don't need the Internet for your paper, turn it off.

Write down the skeleton framework "essay outline" and populate it sparsely with just the main points. One to two sentences for each point you're going to make is usually good enough.
When you sit down at the exam, spend the first few minutes rewriting that framework on the back of the exam sheet, and then use what you studied to expand each point's sentence into paragraphs, and go from there.
I've had students hell-bent on actually writing the exam's essay beforehand, stuffing it all into their brain, and then attempting to break the land speed record writing it all down before the words started leaking out of their ears and whatnot. It works for some people, but you probably already know if you're the type of person who can do that.

I tried doing that once in college for an exam that I barely went to class, so I had a shit ton to read before the exam. That shit just made me stay wide awake and procrasturbate the entire night away.
I've had to write 1000s of papers over the years and the best way for me is to start with the body and just start writing away. After 4-5 pages of writing (I guess it depends on how long yours is, but mine were never less than about 10-12 pages) go back and read it as an outline to gauge where you are at. Expand parts that need more information and start citing in this step too, then remove any BS filler. At this point, you may have enough to write a good intro. If not, either keep writing if you have more ideas or drive into some of your books for a little refresher.

What I did was split the essay into five parts, and draw a little number on each finger. For some reason seeing the little number 3 on my middle finger helped me remember the third paragraph. I did it out of an act of desperation but I think it helped.

Most writing isn't about actually writing, but editing.
Just shit down one of the worst essays you've ever written real quick, and then start making repairs until it resembles the English language.

gotta write an essay in 8 hours ._.
it might also help if you tell us what the essay is about, certain things work for different essays. if you actually enjoy the topic, dont shit something out and edit it up. write something quality, and then further improve upon it. if its something that you dont enjoy writing about, then some of these more concrete suggestions stated above will make it less painful.

I don't know about adderall personally, but I don't have ADD and I've taken vyvanse as part of an anti-depression treatment. Stimulants most definitely help your concentration.

Stimulants are weird. They do stimulate, but depending on the mental condition of the person ingesting them, they do different things. People with attention disorders, it makes them pay more attention, but neurotypical people experience an entirely different response.
