i just switched back my main from pocket to scout and im having trouble with my movement. does anyone have tips on how to improve my movement?
Can't dodge hitscan really, dodging projectiles come from being unpredictable. Being at a distance should be simplier to dodge but up close you are more likely to get hit, so find a middle ground where you can get good shots in and dodge effectively. Just practice.
Play with your monitor off. You won't know what you're doing and neither will they.
You have to feel the inner rhetard and let it out. It's the only way to stay unpredictable.
capnfapn's movement tips:
1. Mess up soldiers by changing your distance from them. Its really easy for soldiers to aim their rockets from left to right, but hitting the ground at the right distance is whats tricky. You should try dodging rockets just by pressing W and S sometime.
2. When Jumping you should almost always airstrafe. This makes it really hard for anybody to hit you with a direct and its also a bit harder to hit with a hitscan weapon.
3. Pay attention to what weapon the soldier/demo you're fighting is using and change your movement to make it hard for them to hit you with that weapon.
4. Do 360's in the air. Sounds gimmicky I know but it does work lolololololol.
5. Against scouts you wanna stay on the ground and spam WASD. not just A and D. You need to throw in some W and S too.
6. try to actually, you know, dodge the projectile. Don't just let it fly on towards you and hope it doesnt hit you. Make a conscious effort to get out of its way. Even if you dont escape the splash you will still take less damage.
7. Do something WEIRDDD. jump just once, stand still for a millisecond, jump on top of the light switch on the wall and do a 360 taunt slide >___>

One of the more effective ways I found was to play a lot of ammomod against soldiers to dodge rockets.
quake helps. a lot. play quake. or warsow. or you could vote for warsow on steam to get greenlighted. or you could vote and play warsow. really all up to you. #shameless plug
I played tons of hours of quake, and no it doesn't. Quake is fast paced, and dodging is much less useful in quake than in tf2. Dodging can literally change your entire game in tf2, but there isn't enough time to dodge in quake. Practicing tf2 movement builds tf2 movement.

Check out stefan's TF2 pov's on his channel. His movement is pretty absurd and you can learn a few tricks. Don't try to imitate everything he does, but it's nice to kind of analyze some of his movement and why he does it.
