Welcome to Steel Pugs! This is an American pug group that strives to help new players get into the competitive side of TF2, with a positive and motivational environment! This pug group is strictly for steel level players only (or lower). This pug group revolves around a single discord server where everyone interacts with each other.
This pug group supports 6s, HL, and 4s.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Because this pug group is recommended for steel players only, players with higher skill level and experience may apply to coach players during/after a pug is completed.
Pug matches are set up and announced weekly.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The local discord is located here.

Guidelines/Rules are located in the info section of the discord channel.
If you have any further questions, please contact me through Discord!

Doesn't seem like it's the same thing though
(correct me if i'm wrong)

well the newbie drive is different but newbie mixes is exactly what this is.
Newbie mixes don't exactly have exclusive rights to low level pugs aimed at helping new players get into tf2. Newbie mixes/pugs are amazing but a little competition isn't a bad thing.
newbie mixes don't run all the time so having new players in more pugs would be cool.
Newbie mixes are only on fridays so I heavily encourage the creation of lower level pug groups for people to play outside of what we do. Coaches are the limiting factor in operations like these, though, which is why we only really operate on one day. I can only wish other groups the best of luck gathering quality coaches for every game on a consistent basis (you can usually only have 2 of those 3, not all of them).
you will never be good at this game without exposing yourself to stronger players. ugc encourages players to stagnate
Regarding the posts above^
We have no intentions of 'copying' other pug group(s). This pug group is aimed towards more 'competitive' players, who are still new to the competitive scene but are looking for pugs that help improve their weaknesses. We do not wish 'copy' or rip-off any pug group/mixes.
