Willing to spend ~$100, not more than $200 for sure. Looking for something geared towards audiophiles, however if I can avoid needing a dac/amp to drive it from my phone, even better :)

while the pistons are always recommended in threads like this, the op says his budget is up in the 100-200 dollar range so he could probaby get something even nicer

What sort of sound signature are you looking for? I don't like recommending stuff without knowing that first.

Would those need amps?

Anyway I love my thinksound rains, I just got the usp1’s and like them even more.

Other things to look at are rha 750i’s and alpha and delta d6.

Personally I would go for Monoprice Monolith M300 since I have the Monoprice Monolith M1060.

I'm a big fan of planar headphones and would like to test planar iem

MonkeySuitWould those need amps?

No they don't NEED one. OFC like anything that is worth a damn they are better with one but you don't need it for them to be enjoyable.

emoWhat sort of sound signature are you looking for? I don't like recommending stuff without knowing that first.

Can't really say since I haven't used that much of a variety of earphones/headphones to know what I like and what I don't like so do recommend me different earphones with different sound signatures :)

Beyerdynamic iDX 200 iE ~100$

  • solid build quality (solid titanium)
  • overall balanced signature
  • replacement ear-tips to suit your needs
  • CON if you end up using with android phone while out, remote doesn't work.

Creative Aurvana In-Ear3 ~80$

  • Strong midrange
  • above average isolation for an IEM
  • bass is accurate and controlled but a little overpowered by the midrange

The rest of my IEMs are way over 200 so uh, there ya go.
