ok so it's like my 5th day taking cold showers in a row. (I live in michigan so it's cold af so I start with warm water then I gradually make it ice cold)
Not even kidding there are like huge benefits so far.
1. I feel so much happier at school.
2. I seem to be talking to random people so much more now. (Random coversations)
3. I suck a little less at tf2.
4. It's harder for me to sweat in super hot classrooms or when exercising.
5. I remember to say hi to people much more. Or maybe im just noticing how i feel like such a good person now.
6. I'm not falling asleep in classes that easily.

I do think it's personal preference/placebo but I take cold showers in the summer and I can agree with you that they are great.

I have to be up for school around 5:30am each morning, and I always end my showers with 30 seconds of just the cold water running. If I don't do it, it takes me the first few hours of my day to really wake up. 30 seconds of mild pain is absolutely worth 2-4 hours of really productive morning time.
Been doing this for a couple years, and I feel like I've really turned around from being a lazy bum to a fairly productive, good student. Obviously, there were a lot of other life changes/ big decisions that happened over that time, but I feel this is definitely a contributing factor.

My grandfather always recommended to me ending a shower with cold water. 100% agree with him it's very nice and good for your mood/health.

Funny story, I was reading a health book, for high school students, from 1908 and it too recommended cold showers to "exercise your capillaries" now while I doubt that's actually a thing that's possible to do, I too have been on the cold shower train.
I actually prefer to use no hot whatsoever, and I often find myself laughing sort of maniacally before I get in and really enjoy the rush. It also massively cuts down on the amount of time I waste in the shower which is nice for my bills.

i tried the cold at the end and it was pretty decent...couldnt imagine doing an entire shower could though, i feel like soap doesnt wash off well with cold water

As a high school soccer player last year, I took cold baths with absolutely no hot water whatsoever during the summer and must I say it was a daily challenge. They're great for your recovery and you feel great afterwards, but getting yourself to fully submerge your body takes some serious willpower. My mindset was always, suffer for a couple minutes now, and hours of your life will be improved, and it always did. I stopped falling asleep in class and I was much more energetic on the field and in my daily life. I don't have much experience with cold showers, but I'm sure any type of cold water exposure would be beneficial both mentally and physically.
