The rules for both tournaments will be slightly adjusted from last month, moving towards the goal of opening up the whitelist by having the totally broken weapons fixed. This continues to bring us to a place that can be easily picked up by new players and spectators.
The main differences for those more experienced with 6v6 TF2 are the following:
5CP maps only
Class limits: 2 for each of scout and soldier; 1 for all other classes (that’s right only one
Pyro this time)
Win limit: 5 rounds with a 30min timer
The whitelist can be seen here.

Are there even enough teams competing for there to be divisions? Though the wide variance in skill levels among teams is a bit questionable, last time around my mid-Steel HL team went 5-0 against a team full of people with ~100 hours who also 5-0'd another team. I think just having people participate is more important than dividing people up with ranks, since that's just more work and only around 35 teams played last time.

Are these ever going to include any off-classing rules? At this point, you basically rely on the other team to play the game properly but nothing in the rules can keep them from ruining the experience by off-classing the entire match.

pugs/lobbies have offclassing rules because you try to simulate what most people do in officials because it's harder to coordinate to shut down offclassers. in officials, everything's fair game, except the cheese strats that class limits try to reduce

the swiss seems to give reasonably close matches after the first couple games, except if you're unlucky and there aren't many similar level teams playing. having divs might reduce the number of games needed to get the thing over with (2 4/5 hour days is a bit much imo) but then you have issues that they need to be manually seeded and people will always complain

We currently have 4 teams signed up to the EU with only a few more days to sign up, as with before we really need 16 teams to sign up to keep these sponsors.
Teams of any skill level can play and I encourage you to do so, as with swiss you'll get 5 games on the saturday for sure and you should be playing against fairly equal opponents within a game or two.
For those of you wanting divisions these will come when we get more than only 16 teams signing up to play, if we only have this many there's no way to create them and have them make any difference.

The EU monthly is over and it provided us with a great set of games for the weekend, congrats to Ascent.EU for taking home the victory.
Now we turn our attention to the NA monthly. 5 teams have registered so far, but can we beat last months 36 teams?

Thanks a bunch for running the eu monthly, always fun and look forward to the next one. Would encourage as many Americans as possible to get into this cup, Essentials run a great operation and you don't need to get prize money to have a reason to play TF2 if you have the time to give up anyway.
