What’s a good isp, currently with frontier and liking it. Hated spectrum when I had it. Should I just stick with frontier or are there any better ones out there?
I've always had trouble with cable companies and THEIR modem.
Been a smooth sail ever since I purchased my own modem.

frontier is what my family uses and i have no gripes with it.
its worth noting that ethernet > wifi, in case you didnt know.

Frontier is the best until they start trying to screw you over.
My family had frontier and then a bunch of issues popped up involving a lot of people's internet getting shut off for hours at a time randomly. We switched to Spectrum but apparently my dad is having issues with their upload/download speed for what we are paying and are considering switching back to Frontier.

Yeah I use Ethernet when I can. And what I’ve noticed when using WiFi is that occasionally my ping will spike up for a couple of seconds, is this a problem that can be solved by buying a better modem or is that just a WiFi issue
ur problem probably isnt ur isp but if u want a good one get fiber from ATNT. I get ~20 less ping to Chicago than with charter.
[spoiler] also the bandwidth is pretty nice

i have spectrum and it works fine for my roommates and i, it only gets bad when everyone has their girl over and they all wanna watch contour tutorials
as a general rule, telco fiber > cable fiber > telco dsl. depending on ur area, look at at&t or frontier. if they don't offer fiber, the cable company (usually charter or twc) usually will. if neither offers fiber, move.
