Did the winning teams from previous monthlies ever get paid? There were a few posts about this in the last monthlies thread.

We're still waiting on Twitch atm, but once things go through we shouldn't have the problem again for the rest of the year.

EU Monthly payments have been going out over the last couple of days as Kaidus can confirm.

We're also still waiting on Valve for a reply so we can get medals into the game for participants in the monthly cups, but once they're in the game we plan to hand them out for previous events.

Thanks for being patient with us, we're still at the mercy of sponsors and Valve, but once a couple things are cleared out, it'll all be running smoothly.

We also have started working on some new tools to make signing up and playing much easier.

fists allowed though, they're still super good at tanking as heavy

also havent seen this advertised anywhere but the discord but heny posted some new rules on throwing: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15C1JNNy6M4aJ117OLu0U_d8psR_PgaL0hxiHQMptzjo/edit?usp=sharing

so i looked at the math on the FoS to see how awful it would be and idk you have a 390 that gets 15h/s from a medic instead of 24h/s that can tank 6 pipes without the med to start with, all of which just makes it really obvious to kill the heavy last or atleast late in a push.
sounds annoying enough but keep in mind that the heavy cant do anything else while doing that and if he wants to change that the switch time is twice the normal one before he can shoot again and due to how miniguns work still not with full damage instantly, so yyou cant realy alternate quickly between tanking and firing atleast.
so while theoretically it can prolly be worked around in reality pyro and sentries are a thing at which point it becomes just stupid to have to focus the pyro, then sentry, then anyone else and then a heavy that is gonna buy more time than average for spawns, if not just kill people if given the time to swap weapons. and given how hard pushing last already is, it just introduces another layer of gambling for what the heavy on last is doing to a last push that doesnt need to exist.

tldr: if FoS was the only thing to worry about on last i'd probably be fine with it but as is please take it of the whitelist wolf, dont think more stalemates are gonna atract any sponsors

(also the sydney sleeper is stupid and no math is required to prove that)

We received January and February money, can confirm. Don't know why anyone was making a fuss about anything other than January anyway, the rules clearly state that you should allow up to 60 days for prize payout which seems pretty standard to me.

The switch speed nerf on FoS is irrelevant because you can cancel it out by switching to your secondary and then your primary. It's also way too tanky, would make holding last on uber disad even easier than it already is, you might as well just unban wrangler as well then (don't). Sydney sleeper could only be a problem on koth but essentials map pool doesnt have those so its fine.

friendly reminder of the abusable weps that are allowed in the monthly cups but not in the global whitelist:

  • BASE jumper
  • flying guillotine
  • pbpp
  • gas passer
  • fists of steel
  • machina arguably
  • sydney sleeper arguably
  • cow mangler arguably

someone please (ab)use them so we can get some ~~data~~ and ban them again ty

DuMmTm

you can swap to fists after your buff goes below 390, and i think you can still swap quick enough to force people to not just ignore you

and since the sydney sleeper was nerfed to not splash jarate and only apply it for a max of 5 seconds i havent seen a reason why you'd run it over stock. surely even if you play mid with the intention of scoping for bodyshots (muuki style) you'd probably still prefer to have the opportunity for headshots rather than a short jarate effect

Last month, I fielded teams for both the NA and the EU cups. Literally every time we allowed the other team to host (and EU teams in particular seemed unwilling to let us host, even when I offered to use French servers), the server would be running the wrong config and whitelist. This might be the result of people being unwilling to try new things, but I'm more inclined to believe it's just because they weren't aware of the new whitelist, or where to get it. It's not easily visible on whitelist.tf, there are no links on the Toornament page or in the essentials article, and I wound up having to do some digging on the forums here in order to find it.

I'm not really interested in nagging the other team to switch servers or install the config every round, especially after 5 hours of struggling to keep my team together for the last round of games. The ideal solution would be to for essentials to provide servers, but in lieu of that, the config needs to be much more visible.

I played on the eu team he is referring to and can confirm I played 5 eu games all with the wrong whitelist.

http://whitelist.tf/essentials_monthly and tftrue_whitelist_id essentials_monthly should do the trick (even _monthlies works), the config has a hardcoded ID 8577 for the whitelist it should execute, provided TFTrue is installed and the newest version of config on the server.

I have not been contacted by anyone from Essentials to make any whitelist of theirs an official preset, so I've just been doing my usual thing and naming some where I see fit.
