Velocity eSports has announced a new minor shuffle within its team for ESEA Season 28, coming abruptly after the organization had previously announced their new roster.

The team’s Pocket Soldier kryptonite has departed the roster, reportedly on his own volition according to the organization’s tweet. Kryptonite’s first season of Invite was in Season 24 with Team Skull, before the team dissolved in Week 5 of the regular season. Kryptonite dropped down to Intermediate, where he finished second with Whale eSports, which also included speedy in their roster.

Kryptonite joined Velocity eSports in ESEA Season 25 and continued to play for the team in the following seasons, as well as during Esports Arena’s Rewind II LAN tournament.

Filling the team's new vacant spot is speedy, who previously played with Kryptonite in the aforementioned season of Intermediate with Whale eSports. Speedy is no stranger to Invite, having played previously with LunatiK eSports and black swan in seasons prior. While not yet as established as his peers, he has proven himself to be capable of playing within an Invite setting.

We caught up with kryptonite following his entrance into inactivity and the former Pocket was able to give us some insight into his departure from the team.

Essentially, my interest in TF2 has been waning over the past couple seasons and I figured it was about time I took a break from the competitive scene. I also wanted to prioritize school over this summer and playing TF2 5 nights a week takes away from that. I wish the team the best this coming season and I hope they come away with another top 4 finish.
