"I think it's really important to reiterate this: Anyone who spends the next two weeks expecting Fallout: 76 to be a new traditional single-player RPG will be VERY disappointed"
Well that sounds.... um.... disappointing.

can't help but feel that it'll be like fallout 4 but even further from what people want
either:
- bethesda outsourced this one to obsidian and it wont hurt to play
or
- "lowered expectations e3 event"
flip a coin and pray it lands heads

if it's a battle royale game I'm actually gonna kms
I never played fallout 4. I only ever played new vegas. Should I pick it up? People said it was kinda far generic story wise

fallout 4 is very fun if u treat is as a shooter and not an RPG

If it has the same level of storytelling as FO4/3 or a voiced protagonist it's going to be a day1 pirate for me. I hope they let the guys that did NV handle this one instead.
Some1 claimed that it was gonna be focusing on base-building and it'll be online. I hope they're wrong
i honestly dont understand fallout, while i enjoyed the fourth one because the weapons didnt feel like nerf guns so much, it still was impossible to get immersed in the world of that game just because how rpgish the game felt, i know alot of people like fallout exactly for this reason, but i feel like the games would be much better if it was more about survival and combat and less about shooting the same guy 20 times to the head with a shotgun until he eventually explodes into tiny pieces while listening to 40 hours of poorly written dialog that sounds like if the voice actors were picked up from the streets 30 minutes prior to the recording
EDIT: ITS AN ONLINE GAME WHAT THE FUCK

fallout 4 wasnt even rpgish though, even less so than the other games. but ye the entire premise of the game was kinda shit when it came down to it idk. Still enjoyed it but it really lacked a lot of depth and progression
you can go through the entire game without upgrading anything like the whole upgrade system is just flawed in that it doesnt actually matter

why can't they just make another elder scrolls game
from what i've heard, this is going to be an online survival aka Rust: Fallout Edition
even if it wasnt though, obsidian has nothing to do with it so it's going to be a shit fallout game either way.
bethesda can't make good RPGs

the main writer for FNV got fired and he put the company on blast in a blog post

Lmao unbelievable. The response to "oh this elder scrolls franchise is really popular and is doing well" is "better not develop any more games and milk this one as long as possible!" Im not saying it doesnt make sense business wise, but as a fan its fun to know that giving them money actually gets punished

I really hope this doesnt just turn out to be a settlement building game :/
Being set only 25 years after the war doesnt fill me with hope though

definitely gonna be a settlement building focus since the previous fallout games already had made settlements. This is a prequel so its gotta start somewhere.
