I've been on the fence about keeping my various bits and pieces going, and it's just not worth it is it? The unchallenged levels of toxic behaviour make it an embarrassment to admit to being involved in comp TF2 now. This seems as good a moment as any to make that decision.

I think a lot of people have shown their true colours today, I just hope people learn from what's happened here going forward.

Because the game is more or less dead as it is anyways. There is ZERO reason or net gain from participating in a situation like this because the stream numbers are shit, the player numbers are shit, the top level of the game is absolutely shit for competition and it seems that more then a few players are ok with being pieces of shit as well.
Nothing is gained and reputation can only be lost, anyone big not leaving at this point is more then questionable.

Perhaps if more people actually spoke out about, if pug/league admins actually did shit about it could improve, but before this point it seemed like nobody actually gave a fuck.

I see people from all over the tf2 community getting picked in pugs, people i would never speak to in any other circumstance. So to say that we are all a part of a circlejerk is pretty ludicrous. Unless being good at the game is a circlejerk. I do agree that some people could get cooldowns from playing if they are toxic and whatnot.

From talking to an ETF2L admin it is unlikely they will ban Degu or Pred as they never have got involved when someone competing in ETF2L has got involved on a different website making personal attacks, it isn't their job to Police anything but ETF2L. Ultimately decision remains in the hands of the Head admin Aoshi, he can make the decision to ban them on his own.

Got to remember this website is not the whole of the community same way UGC isn't whole of the community, or ETF2L isn't or ESEA isn't.

Admins of any other platform are able to act also of they are obliged too.

Down to them now isn't it. What Pred said was wrong in my mind and stupid but when you down the road of banning people for what is said on other platforms it is a dangerous precedent to set. Hence why to date, such incidents have not, unless I am mistaken, never been enforced.

With that all said if ETF2L don't reach the desired outcome for people, you are welcome I.am sure to boycott the league in protest, it may have an effect. I doubt many people here actually will, especially if there is prize money on offer.

Ive been hearing tf2 is dead since fucking i46. if people can get gathers for natural selection today why is there always this impending doom sign over tf2 even though i meet fresh blood with lots of potential when i play hlpugs and thats the dead gamemode of tf2 apparantly. People who bought into the fake e-sports meme that tf2 would eventually become and put a lot of time in it, may reach to their conclusions over this long time, and i'm ok with being a piece of shit, playing with cool people in my favourite game with no fucking drama whatsoever like hobbits in the shire. I know its just a fraction still playing of the glory days, but lots of games have dedicated communities

Just imagine the impact of "tf2 is dead" being repeated and the demoralizing effect it had on dedicated people who gave up investing their time in it because people kept telling them what they are doing is pointless, why do you think you get exponentially fewer and fewer captains over time. (not saying its the sole reason obviously) but I remember i was so emberassed, so burned out at the scene after being my keenest and seeing the americans beat the crap out of the euros who were so smug and so drunk the night before. So off to a new game with less soul crushing experiences right? Yea, except that i went into dota 2. after a dozen or so "comp" captain mode games where i basically had to play clockwerk each fucking time, i decided i only want to play games with friends, to have fun. and lot of us are that way.
