My b. Its 1.4 amps. Less than a 1/2 dead aa battery. WIth the surrounding material acting as a heat sink i doubt it would ever get hot enough to melt. What is more likely is a mosfet popped.Either way it isn't good news for the likelihood of the ram being the only thing wrong. Something else dealing with power delivery would have had to catastrophically failed to cause something to melt here without the computer just shutting itself off.
