Would usually result in a good 2 hours of work, with roughly 6 of fucking about.

If you really need to, I suggest using a program named Cold Turkey.

idk if still relevant, but i like to go away from home to study, because i find myself not focusing on the shit that i should study, instead i do pointless shit. so usually i go to my fav pub and study there, as i really like that places atmosphere, and i can drink a good coffee and take my cig breaks as i do anyways.
having some people to study with is ok too, if you can go by the same tempo
