I'm having some issues with my internet recently. It's fine a lot of the time but occasionally my ping to certain servers becomes about 150 when it should be 40 or so, and over a period of like 30 minutes slowly climbs back down to where it should be. My internet speeds doesn't change and neither does the amount of time it takes for me to ping to the modem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I'm thinking it has something to do with the jumps my connection has to do?
I'm using wireless if that helps you at all

I always here that from people, and honestly, it's not too hard to run a line between the studs and to another floor. Anyways, if it's 30 minutes or more it sounds like a problem with your provider. Does it generally happen during peak internet times?

I don't know why wireless gets so much hate on this forum. Wireless isn't that bad unless you're in a networking environment with tons of other active network devices streaming data to your hub causing interference.

I get the same ping I did when I was directly connected to the modem, and I've had no issues with jitter or packet loss or anything, Been using it for around a month now. its kind of pricey though.

Last place I was I had wireless for 4 months and never a single issue. The technology is fine nowadays

powerline shit is really good depending on how old your house/apt is, i use it at my place and i get the same ping as when i use wired
