My mousepad (Razer Kabuto) has served me pretty well, but it has begin fraying at the edges.

Looking for
- Small to Medium size
- Easy to clean
- Very stable (I put a lot of pressure on the mouse as I play)
- Good texture for FPS

buy the QcK mass, its a padded version of the Qck. right now its cheaper too. makes an awesome rest for your wrist

I just bought the qck mass, excited to see how it goes.

Also can anyone recommend one of those hard plastic (vinyl?) mousepads? Not for gaming, just for general use.

I use the Thermaltake Dasher currently as I used the Goliathus previously and I don't see a difference in them really iirc.

1) get piece of hard plastic or vinyl

2) cut into whatever shape you want

edit: maybe you thought I was referring to mousepads in general, instead of just answering the post above mine. Though depending on material there are a lot of ways to improvise. You don't necessarily have a need for the rubber bottom, a piece of fabric of your choice can work fine if it stays still

artisan is really good. the foam they use is really dense and provides really good even support.

typically, with the exception of plastic coated cloths like the zowie g-tf, cloth pads do not wear as fast as plastic/metal pads. they are also easier on your mousefeet too. this is why i have steered away from hardpads.

some people prefer the feeling of cloth to their skin instead of plastic/metal. some prefer the glide of the hardpads. i find that the artisans bring the quick glide of a hardpad to a cloth based solution using a texture weaved surface that kind of simulates the texture in hardpads.

the artisan has the speed i want from a hardpad, at the same time the stopping ability you get from a cloth pad.

I use the Corsair MM200 and it gives my mouse very accurate movement (more than my Puretrak Talent even).

Artisan is good if you need speed and glide, the goliathus speed is also good. Qpad CT is one of the best but it's really expensive.

Rigid pad-wise, I use a Steelseries HD4 which is pretty nice. Not exactly a conventional shape but the texture is nice and it will not move an inch. Rigid pads are a lot easier to maintain, too since you can just wipe them off with a damp rag or something.
