Ombrackyou just have to consider the characters aren't as one-dimensional as you seem to believe.
That's definitely a stretch. Pretty sure even the show runners admitted they screwed up with the rape scene. In the last season Jamie sees the foul side of Cersei and just leaves like Tyrion did. The rape scene was so out of character and stupid I think they removed it from the blu-ray releases.

One of the funniest moments in television history. Littlefinger pleads not guilty, then gets executed without any evidence or any type of trial whatsoever. He asks for a chance to defend himself against completely fabricated evidence, and then gets executed on the spot. Just like Ned taught them.
I mean, his first three words after being charged with Lysa's murder are "I did it" so...

I didn't think the episode was that bad. They had to have something like this to take into account traveling time and making dragonglass weapons, etc. Kinda made sense to have a no action episode to start the season.
Can't wait to see the funny things people make about the scene when Jon is kissing Daenerys while looking over her shoulder right into Drogon's face.
Who is going to be the target of the special weapon Arya asked Gendry to make that has a dragonglass tip?
--The Night King?
--Random White Walker?
--Undead Viserion?
There was a serious lack of Dothraki in this episode and I was wondering how effective they can be in the fight ahead. Its a TV show, I know, but for the sake of discussion. Most cold areas of the world (in ancient times) were wild, rough and untamed lands with uneven ground and lots of obstacles like forests and rocky terrain. That type of environment is less than ideal for large scale horse combat. There may be some areas where limited cavalry will work (like when Stannis's army got destroyed) but all in all the Dothraki are a "horde" of horses. They excel on large flat ground which they are not going to find up north. I am interested to see how the Dothraki play it into the battles ahead.

People say the first episode was boring but so many huge plot points were hit:
-Jon found out his true identity.
-Cersei has asked Bronn to kill Tyrion
-Theon saved his sister.
-Epic final scene
What more could people want from a first episode, there's a lot of good setup here imo.

BEST EPISODE I'VE EVER SEEN!!! Poor battle, poor script, poor everything. Still, Theon died the hero's death he always needed and Anya once and for all showed she's the ultimate badass. Literally perfect. Disappointed 3000 holy... The death of night king was so forced ... idk what else to say. Enthralling adrenaline fueled madness ignited throughout; an experience like this makes me happy to have a 4K TV. Games of Thrones meets Avengers. I am so disgusted at what I've seen and what led up to this moment being a 1 episode cliche fest.

Where the fuck did Arya come from? How did the white walkers not do anything to her? Why was the night king moving in fucking slow motion when he was about to kill Bran? What goals did the Night King and the White Walkers have?
Why was Jorah kept alive after the Dothraki charge when he was in the front and then dies later in the episode? Why did Dany and her dragon stay on the ground while getting swarmed by wights?
Of all endings to the white walker plotline I can't believe it ends with Arya thanos snapping the entire undead army in that fashion. The battle was cool and all but jesus christ that was so terribly written, why was this battle all in 1 episode when it could have taken up all 3 and had the white walkers actually do something and major characters other than Theon die? Jaime and Brienne were both pinned against a wall by like 20 wights and they fight them off one by one. Jon manages to survive 50 wights coming to life around him and then stands up and just yells at the wight dragon like an idiot and still lives. what the actual fuck
