After much anticipation, CappingTV has announced that The LAN Downunder will return to Melbourne for a second year.
The LAN Downunder premiered last year at LAN-slide v23.0, featuring a multitude of ozfortress Premier players, including v4na and Sam. While the event lacked a prize pool, instead offering hardware prizes thanks to their sponsor, CappingTV hopes to aim higher with a prize pool for 2019. In addition, the event will not be playing out at LAN-slide like its previous iteration, but rather feature its own venue in Melbourne.

The event will kick off July 6th and will run throughout the weekend. The tournament will kick off with a round-robin group stage, followed by a sudden-death single-elimination bracket, bound to be filled with upsets and fast-paced action. The event will not be BYOC, with CappingTV touting that it has already booked PCs for the tournament's matches.
CappingTV has also told teamfortress.tv that it has teamed up with Red Bull for the event, but that the prize pool and venue are currently pending. More details are available at The LAN Downunder’s official Discord.
