You can request me to design a custom config according to your computer, and your personal quality vs performance preferences.
Additionally, as an addon, you can get help from me to do advanced scripting in your config, within reason.

Is there a github where you're saving these new versions of mastercomfig? I'd like to see up to date documentation on version 8.

If I'm using the transparent viewmodel addon, does it matter what I set the motion-blur module to? (or just leave it at whatever default it uses for the preset?)

pretty cool program, i tried using it for an hour or so but due to the fact that putting everything on very low forces silly gibs im rather not interested in this program/autoexec. id rather stick to the toaster comanglia settings so i can have high fps + gore. still a cool program. id use it if it didnt look like i was a robot everytime i exploded.

Modules are used in presets to set quality levels and can also be used in a tf/cfg/user/modules.cfg file to customize your config easily without searching for individual console variable values. Just put your desired module level in user/modules.cfg. For example, textures=high
You can select modules in game using the console. Just enter the module you’d like to select with a = before it. This selection will persist even after a restart!
For example, you could enter =textures=high to set your textures to high, and to have it set to high in future launches as well.
I don't think it could be explained any better, I'm genuinely curious how you managed to miss that for an hour.

This was a typo in the config settings and is fixed in the updated 6 versions or the 8 beta, sorry. I've deployed a hotfix to mastercomfig 7 to override these settings. You should get it if you apply the config again.

thanks for all the help! i finally got it to work, i think im getting around 20 more fps than with the toaster settings of carmanglia. just a quick question though, what is the setting to see blood on the player model when they've been shot? not after they're dead but while they're still alive.

Hi does anyone know if tf2 should run better with hyperthreading disabled? With it disabled it gives me more consistent framerates. My CPU is an i5 8300h, a quad-core.

Sorry if these questions have already been answered already
1. Whenever I install a config, it always overides my class configs. Is there any workaround?
2. I am on the mastercomfig-very-low-preset. This turns off the killfeed. When I change these to the settings I want (i.e. to turn killfeed on) and save the changes - the killfeed does not turn on ingame.
I see that the killfeed on/off is on an alias, and I turned it on with "alias killfeed killfeed_on". But is still has not worked.
TY

add "_c" to the class config name, eg "scout.cfg" to scout_c.cfg"
i'd edit the vpk itself, better to wait for mastercoms

That kinda worked. I can type exec scout_c into console and it will exec. But it will not exec when I just change class.

You'd need to add exec scout_c into the actual scout.cfg

You all need to read the docs! :D
For your class config issue, custom configs: https://docs.mastercomfig.com/en/latest/customization/custom_configs/
For your killfeed issue, modules: https://docs.mastercomfig.com/en/latest/customization/modules/
But I'd recommend using low, not very low if you want to enable HUD stuff. Because then you aren't the target demographic for very low, which is for people who are incredibly desperate to turn everything off.

For some reason my modules are't being applied, and the console says that the modules.log isn't found. I can't find it in my tf files.

Imagine putting hours into making documentation only for people to make a tftv accounts just to ask stupid questions

There is no modules.cfg file in tf/cfg/user for me, and adding the file location isn't working.

Make sure you are using the latest version of mastercomfig. You need to manually create a modules.cfg file. Make sure every file is in the correct location. Mastercoms has included a list of sample configs. For reference, you can find mastercoms' personal cfg which shows where modules.cfg should be.

VPK's are drag-n-drop into the \Common\Team Fortress 2\TF\Custom\ folder. Follow https://docs.mastercomfig.com/en/latest/setup/clean_up/ instructions, then grab the .zip from mastercom's post above. Going to that link's Install page on the left menu will get you to the version 7, which is not the latest.
You might want to join the Discord server to keep up with the project. Link's in the first post (and whatever else you might need).
