I stopped using the overlay last year, after that tf2 update broke it for so long. Since then, I've also started using a second monitor. I find that with the second monitor, I almost never find myself needing the overlay, and I'm happy that way because I never have to worry about it breaking, and I get more fps.

My overlay only works if I have -dxlevel xx in my launch options. If I don't, the names are all very thick/blurred. Shift+tab doesnt work if I have the -dxlevel xx command. Halp

remove mat_antialias from your config entirely.

Threads, for some reason my overlay is broken. Only have one monitor so I'd have to alt tab out. I'm assuming they have custom overlays?

Open Task Manager, Click on "Show processes from all users", find "mumble.exe*32", right click on it, and Set Priority to Low. It's rather annoying and you'll have to do this every time you start mumble.

Yeah I go to load and it doesn't see the notepad file-only folders. It's named .mumblelay though.

You have to name it as SomeFileName.mumblelay
And select Save as type: All Files

Otherwise you're just saving it a .txt file.

I think Lange's overlay is the best.. the yellow is very visible in any game without burning your eyes out. I've been using it for over a year now and anything else is just meh.
